My GF wants to try one of these escape room experiences and Cardiff is the closest to us that offer these types of things.

Has anyone done one before - particuarly in Cardiff but at all would be interested to get your thoughts.

Done at least a dozen (only failed once - Stoke after an OCUK visit) and they all vary in quality and difficulty but you will only know once you've done a few.

I tend to find the linear types very boring as only a couple of people can really be involved in the game.
The team vs team types are not for me as I like to enjoy the puzzles rather than rattle through it as quick as possible.
Some have a host that will interact with you, this can be fun as our group like to leave them speechless (Brighton ..hehe)

There are some that just throw puzzles at you which are great.
Some have gone all out on production with some very clever touches (a few in Southampton spring to mind)

I think you'd be checking the fire certificate, after the deaths they had in Poland, thought there were even other incidents too.

edit: whilst coronavirus is present, I think it's a no too.

Went to one in Bristol for a work event.

Was really good fun, we finished it in about 45 mins with only a couple of clues.

Done 5 or 6. Only failed one hideously because it involved throwing a lasso around a thing and it was my useless sister that had to do it. (we were split into 2 groups in 2 "prison" cells)
Wasted half our time literally on the first freaking task.
They are brilliant fun for an hour.
Dont be afraid to ask for a clue if you are utterly stuck.
Its very daunting the first time if you dont have a logical starting point. :P
Some are defiantly better than others in "set and build quality"

might be hard with just 2 of you....
