I spoke too soon. He did his first poop earlier this afternoon which was a normal one and then was back to the litter tray every few minutes doing runny stuff again. The vet thinks that it's because the amount he has eaten has been a shock to his stomach and it will quieten down again. It has and he hasn't been for a couple of hours now so he's only getting half a pouch for supper and I will control how much he has over the coming days and increase it gradually. Poor chap has got to have his anti-biotic pill soon followed by two more pills at 22.00 and he's getting fed up with being made to swallow pills. He actually growled at me this morning which was the first time I have ever heard him growl. I have to admit that I really don't like doing it and am afraid I am hurting him so it takes longer than it really should. The vet made it look easy but he's not so co-operative home here with me.

The vets have lots of practice - We are lucky - Ronnie loves butter so we grind up the pills and mix them in a small amount of butter and feed him by finger. Holly never ate butter so it was a fight to the death getting pills in her.

So glad he has picked up.

Reminds me of my old cat Bandit! :D

It took two people in the vets to force tablets down him.

I got around it home by crushing them into raw liver, which he would go mental for.

Quick update on Garfield. He seems to be well on the way to a full recovery which is a miracle after having little hope on Sunday morning. His appetite is back to normal as well as his water intake. He is peeing as normal and his poops are almost back to normal. He is still on his anti-biotics and has another five days to go for them but has finished all his other medication. Overall he is back to his old self and if anything wants even more cuddles. I don't have to go back to the vets unless he goes downhill again but touch wood (touches head) that will not happen. They still couldn't find out what was wrong with him despite running a barrage of tests which is rather frustrating as it would have been good to know if only to be assured it wouldn't happen again. Thank you so much @DXP55 , @subbytna , @Kelt and @Phate for your kind words. This has been a really difficult time for me and my emotions have been all over the place so I am glad he is making a full recovery.

Hi all

This is our Daisy (Affectionately called Daisy Doo doo!), We've had her for around 5 or 6 years, She was semi feral when we got her and she hated men!, Apparently the last people that she owned, The hubby held her whilst the wife administered treatments so she hated all men since!!

She wouldn't come near me for years!- Fast forward to last year, The wife was ill and ended up in hospital for around a month so I had to do all the feeding, Daisy doo lowered her guard and found herself climbing on to my lap for a bit of warmth and company!!

As soon as the wife was home though, She showed her preference but at least she does come and get on my knees most days (The cat not the wife!!)

This is our Smokey, He came from a sanctuary, He's a big cat but sat back until all the others had eated there, We fell for him and he turned out to be the most affectionate moggy we've ever had!!

He's getting old now though and struggles to get on my knee so I have to lift him!

Strangely he has a big body but a comparitively small head!!

He looks miserable in this pic and seems to be thinking, Try it if you dare!! :D

This is my sons cat, He seemed to come with the house they bought, The lady that they were buying the house from was a chronic alcoholic and actually passed away during the sale, The estranged hubby had to take over, We thought it was her cat as it kept sitting at the door so my lad started feeding him and he was in the house almost all the time!

Turned out he actually lived several houses up and he saw a post in a local group on facebook asking if anyone had seen him so my lad contacted them and explained his mistake but in their house they had loads of kids and dogs so it was too boistrous for the moggie, She was happy to let my son adopt the puss, he's a brilliantly funny cat too!, They call him Sausage, There was another cat that came to be fed, They christened him Beanz!!
