AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

The GFX market will be alive and kicking come November, the fact here is that Nvidia has set the ball rolling with RXT3xxx, decent performance jumps and a much better price/ performance ratio than the previous gen. No matter where AMD cards sit in the performance stakes, they will probably be priced to reflect their standing against the nvidia equivalent possibly undercutting them a smidge. Either way, anyone after a new card will be much better rewarded for their hard earned cash compared to the situation just a month ago.

Jensen gets away with anything though. If it turns out to be nowhere near a 2080ti and only beats it only at 4k with raytracing running 31fps nobody will say anything. When AMD claim "it's an overclockers dream" and it's not.. It's an overnight meme.

The only thing I care about is AMD producing a card which equals the 3080 in performance, but at a lower entry price. If they manage that, they'll have my money. £599 would be the sweet spot in an already overpriced GPU market.

I've never once said I AM BUYING Nvidia, I will buy what suits me at the time. I said if it was equal I will buy Nvidia, mostly for a change. Please read before you misquote people.

I didn't misquote you, you came across as being committed to nvidia if AMD were even on par then went off track with your car comparison! :p

Fair play you can wait to see before buying, its what Im doing. Dont discount comparisons to older 'yesterdays' cards as its what nvidia are currently doing, and likely what AMD will do on their press info.

Just like this breakdown here:
Breaking the leak down:

80 CU's (5700XT X2)
1.17X IPC (+17%)
Able to sustain clocks over 2Ghz, 5700XT sustains about 1.9Ghz, lets say Big Navi sustains 2.2Ghz like the PS5 (+15%)

Add it all up and Big Navi is +132% over a 5700XT. After scaling, absolutely 5700XT X1.9 to X2.3.

Well the 3080 is not 50% faster than the 2080TI, not even close and the 3090 is not that much better. In fact the 3090 is more 2080TI +50% than the 3080 is.

A smaller 64 CU RDNA2 could probably match the 3080, just about with some Leather Jacket marketing.

Yea its why I stop listening to what he states.
Ray Tracing hyped for 2 years now.
Main reason to buy a card with no games really that I play why would anyone buy those cards?

Seems AMD is about to push graphics to nice engineered invented breakthrough

I suspect a bit quicker than the RTX3070 TBF.

Would laugh my head off if it was and Navi 31 was indeed not just a rumour and a 3090 slaughterer hahaha... we shall see... and Navi 21/22 or whatever was just a 2080TI - 3080 jobbie

I was thinking of maybe a 56CU model,not the 80CU one.

The problem is people like JayZ2Cents who constantly bangs on about how he's not an Nvidia fanboy because he gets accused of it constantly, which he probably believes that he's not.... And then he says stupid things like "There is no way AMD could ever catch Nvidia, i mean think about it they have to increase the performance of the 5700XT by 350% to match the 2080TI"

And his post Ampere reveal video was a cringe fest of sycophantic dribbling about how brilliant Ampere is and "Nvidia never exaggerate anything, not like AMD do"

And he's far from the only one who has this deranged almost religious reaction to Nvidia, just watch pretty much all the main reviewers Ampere follow-up videos, they are all the same. Other than Hardware Unboxed that is... this is what AMD are up against, a religion. Religious people don't realize they are nuts!

After the past few months a lot of the tubers are similar, I rarely see one with a neutral opinion come to think about it. Would be better if they disclosed what freebies and agreements they have on their page/site if they want to be credible.

Yea the UK Christians tried crusades nine of them and they all failed.
But the fun thing about religion in hardware once things change like you know 100% faster amd hardware in laptop then people stop praying and buys the fastest and since Ryzen built mindshare as we seen,w ell looks good for amd atm

I wonder if there's a longer have being played here? Do Nvidia think AMD are coming for them in the same way as Intel? AMD do appear to have some momentum and much better management these days. Now they have many strings to their bow it's enabling AMD to be much more competitive. This is going to be very healthy for the PC space. The only issue I see is having the funds to keep up with the pace of change!

Edit: typo

If AMD beat Nvidia it will be muted depression disguised by fake excitement. What i would pay to see that...

AMD are a FAR more capable Semiconductor designer than people think they are, and now they have had some R&D monies for a couple of years.

Pretty sad when it comes to an almost religious affiliation for a brand and can't even poke fun at or criticise their preferred brand and see anyone saying anything negative as "the enemy" no matter how objective their comment is and no matter their position on any other brand automatically seen as fanboys of the main opposing brand.

Didn't the book say, end of the world is coming?

Just look at the Vega mhz they added to apu series the last year and the mhz increases seems to pushed into the new Zen3 and Big daddy Navi now, looks good
