This is actually ridiculous. I ordered on launch day at 2pm exactly, site didn’t take my order for 20 mins putting me way further in the queue Than I should’ve been, at least have a system where a separate webpage puts you in a queue to purchase. Many other drops for high demand items work this way so you’re not stuck on a buffering webpage for 20 whole minutes till your order goes through. And even after 35 days I’ve moved up in queue position by 63 , I’m pretty sure half we’re cancellations. Nvidia sucks for doing this. Should’ve launched when there were actually enough cards made. I should’ve got a bot for the fe seeing how few cards are coming in each week. Worst launch of anything I’ve ever seen. Prices going way over msrp for cards that usually are cheaper and don’t over clock well. OC uk is losing my trust more and more each day when competitors aren’t prices. This 3090 will be my last purchase from them. €75 for a bot, better off using that to get a FE instead of being in a queue for 2 months and paying £400 more just to sit behind hundreds or other people. They need to change the way how they launch things , the site clearly can’t handle the traffic, having a separate queuing system to pay instead of everyone rushing the website making it crash over and over. But no they don’t do **** to change after 2 ridiculous launches. Seeing everyone else get the in front of me in the queue getting the card months before me when I ordered at the exact same time is frustrating. Having to come to the forums to get any info is also super dumb. Why is there no order tracker system on the main site ?? Biggest retailer in the uk can’t do something much smaller retailers are doing?.

Thanks. Great minds think alike. Enjoy it!

Build quality of FE is extremly good. The performance difference from 3090 to just about 10% in average for gaming, but the price is almost about 2.7x!!! I might be crazy, but not that much.

My old EVGA 1080Ti and FE card. I can say that FE is almost 2x heavier than my 1080Ti. I hope it will not sack in future.

How did you get an FE?

Enjoy bro!!! Can I ask how's it hanging? Does it seem to need extra support for its considerable weight??

Only if your a lady;)

Its not to bad tbh , im not using any support bracket but it is sitting pretty much horizontal... will keep an eye on it to see if it starts to sag :D

My TUF was sagging noticeably more than my 1080Ti, but the PCIE slot isn’t reinforced, so picked up my first GPU support to be on the safe side.

Lol what a funny post to wake up to

Just going to leave this section of a August interview with AMD here....

According to AMD:

“Measured by AMD Engineering Labs on 8/17/2020 on AMD RDNA 2-based graphics card, using Microsoft’s DirectX RayTracing SDK Procedural Geometry sample application, AMD RDNA 2-based graphics card achieves increased up to 13.8x speed (471 FPS) using Hardware-based RayTracing vs. using DirectX RayTracing Software backing layer (34 FPS) with the same frequencies. Performance may vary. RX-571 “
This data reveals that the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT achieved a performance of 471 FPS in this RayTracing test. For reference, an Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 reaches 630 FPS (+33.8 percent extra) with 6% fewer cores dedicated to the acceleration of RayTracing, while an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 reaches 749 FPS, that is to say, It is 59% faster, although it is not its rival for the price, of course.

Indeed it looks like the 6800xt will have the same raytracing performance of a 3070 and the 6900xt will be still behind a 3080 and a long way behind a 3090.

Its all panning out exactly as I predicted including the prices (i got the 6700 wrong) and the 6800 and 6900 cards will be slightly faster than the Nvidia equivalents in raster but 20% slower in RT.

So if you want the best RT performance or use DLSS buy Nvidia.

If you arent bothered about those features this gen and just want the best performance at full resolution and save money, buy AMD.

Its currently sitting pretty damn straight at the second but will keep an eye on it over the coming weeks ... My Ek waterblock is due to arrive in November which should make the card a touch lighter and less prone to sagging :)

I Installed my 3090 Strix OC last night (mostly went well), in case anyone comes across this when installing theirs, some motherboards (all of them as far as i can tell) might beep 4 times with this new card in. Googling will tell you in memory or timer related. Googling even more with the caveat of 3080/3090 in the search terms yields the fact the motherboard is warning about legacy bios support and these news cards probably don't support it? Either way, make sure your windows installed with UEFI boot mode instead of legacy and then go disable CSM support in the bios and the beeps go away :-).

Hope this helps anyone who may also come across this.
