*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Say the price on web sites has increased. By £70 on those cards. They are not actually losing £70. they just aren't making that extra £70 on the earlier cards. Suppliers won't have increased price like oc did and i'd bet there's still a decent margin in them. OC will have ordered loads at a set price from suppliers.
You're suggesting they have a warehouse full of stock and are waiting for the low numbers to cancel. That's just ridiculous. The price increase on mine was around £50. My eagle had increased by that between launch and me buying an hour later.
Yes they wont struggle to replace people that cancel but who in their right mind is going to come back to oc after they've been peed off enough to cancel from such a low place. People are cancelling by the handful and i doubt a lot will return.
OC are not stupid and they risk more long term damage with what you're suggesting. Still you're entitled to your thoughts and theories. If what you suggest was true then why havn't oc increased their pricing in line with competitors who presumably would have been in exactly the same position? - As pretty much the only place still offering a place in a queue they could quite easily ask for another £100 and offset any potential losses and people would still buy :)
Dude - they don't need people to come back to OC - they still have people coming in here and pre-ordering because it's the only place that is open to it.

And if they buy the cards at a higher rate, and then sell them at a lower rate of course they are losing money. They are saying that the cost by the supplier was increased, they only had a small number of cards at the original price.

When RTX 3080 launched, a few card manufacturers supported us to keep a lower selling price on a limited number of orders. These quickly oversold and our pricing increased to reflect the true cost value of these products. We will of course honour the pricing on all the orders sold at the lower value.

And I'm not arguing with you - I probably agree with you that this is unlikely - I'm just spitballing that it's a possibility, regardless of how unlikely. However, I would have found it more unlikely that the AIB's don't want to send cards to OCUK, but are okay to send them to everyone else. That too, sounds just as ridiculous, yet here we are :-D

Doesn't matter what position you are if they don't get any, we have guys who ordered day one and are in single figures who have been waiting six weeks

They will get hold of those cards. Ive owned zotac cards before and have been impressed with them, stating the obvious but zotac aren’t asus, evga or msi so they’ll be less people wanting them.

Cheers to those who updated status on Trio. So looks like the 20 units havent arrived yet or could have arrived but need to be dispatched.
Still doesnt answer why OCUK stated a large shipment incoming from Asia when now it seems like 20 units.

Hope we get clarification tomorrow.

I imagine they have terms with suppliers like most retail. Most companies have 30-90 days from date of invoice to pay, presumably, @Gibbo is telling you what is arriving in what quantity when he is sent an invoice detailing what he is going to get. Ordering a million of them still won't change the basics of supply.

yes, but if a supplier repeatedly supplied fewer or more items than were ordered they would not remain as a supplier. If Tesco ordered 1000 loo roles and only 20 turned up they wouldn’t say “ho hum, never mind, we’ll keep ordering from them”. I work in sales. If a client wanted 10 items and I sold them 10 items but only 5 turned up from the suppliers I wouldn’t say “ oh well, only 5 have arrived, a never really knew how many would turn up anyway” and the client wouldn’t say, “oh well, not your fault I’m sure the number you ordered from the supplier was only a suggestion”. I would get shouted at by the client and would, in turn, be shouting at the supplier asking where the things were I’d paid for, and I would never use them again.

in fact none of this would happen because I would never work with a supplier who would add this less than pleasing random element to supply and demand. OC will 100% know exactly how many items they ordered and how many they are expecting. The only way they wouldn’t is if, when they arrive, other parts of the company decide which part gets which cards and which are going to pre-builds, case king etc.

I was done gaming already for years. Then microsoft flight simulator arrived in the scene in August and revived childhood dreams, and I realised I need to build a PC again as my MacBook Pro is no good for this purpose.

I thought it would be easy as long as I have the money. But here we are in November and still no flying sims for me. #134 in the queue for a TUF OC that may not arrive this year. Thanks NVidia.

We may never know, there is something weird going on. And I for one am done, when they let go of my balls and I get my card, I'm never coming back here or to the shop
Yeah I managed to preorder from a competitor and it's due in on the 20th. Also the promotion was advertised with call of duty cold war, which I planned to get anyway.
Looking forward to cancelling my order and be done with this. Now why is it a competitor can give exact dates but overclockers can't?

guys

in over 3 weeks my Asus Strix OC 3080 went from 769 to 635

Thats 134 places in nearly a month, and I doubt that OCUk have sent out 134 3080 stix cards, 99% of these are cancelations

also there is not one company in the UK that are taking pre-orders for the Strix other than OCUK

I cant see any one thats posted to say that they have got the 3080 strix OC card

I might as well change it to something else, something that doesnt have a ridiculous pre order que

Some guy ordered another card and he is below 35 in the que

Other people who are waiting on an Asus card are at over 1000 position

So Asus is a waste of time

What other card brand doesnt have a ridiculous que?

I out right refuse to believe this information with all due respect. Whoever told you this must be misinformed. The outrage it would cause if they turned around and said it is now only 20 from 75+ would be absolutely unforgiveable. Have faith and don't worry, they will dispatch from that shipment correctly as soon as this shipment arrives.

It seems that way yes. Taken from official overclockers discord in the sale-queries section someone was asking about the promo and got this back.
Wow... So is this cause Nvidia is made about the pre-order business thats happening? Cause thats odd that everyone else does it but OCUK... so much for the main nvidia partner
