Argghh, bent CPU pins on 3900x

Ah what a nightmare!

I’ve only done it once before and fortunately it was just a couple of pins - Was able to bend/push them back into place with some tweezers and a steady hand :p

Probably also mentioned but installing is easy just double check the alignment markers. When removing remember to do a light twist first on the cooler to break the stiction of the paste.

Anyone remember HIF sockets. Two thumbs and body weight to get the CPU in. Special rake like tool supplied to lever it back out again but do it bit by bit :)

That doesn't look too bad at all in regards to straightening the bent pins, 20 minutes work if you want to let the socket straighten them out properly, an hour max if you're a perfectionist. It does look like there's a pin completely missing though on the closest corner, did you find it? You don't want that lying around on the motherboard or in the socket...
