Boy racers

No I just love all these people who know exactly how fast someone is driving just by looking at the car. Wish I could do that..

Stop being so pedantic. Of course I don't know the exact speed he was driving, but my point is that it was easy to tell it was way faster than 20mph, or even 30mph.

I get a lot of people shouting at me to slow down. I can tell you that I never speed in 30 etc zones but my loud exhaust makes everyone think that I'm hammering down the road.

Either way he stopped etc and it was clearly not an issue.. you sure you're not overreacting simply because you had a car coming towards you and got a bit scared? Maybe cross the road at a better spot where you can see things approaching from a distance so you and the driver have best visibility?

You weren't there so don't patronise me. The driver was at fault, period. He was driving too fast coming into a quiet side road which clearly states 20mph. While I don't expect everyone to drive at exactly 20mph, I would expect them to drive cautiously in such a road. He didn't, only just noticed me and slammed his brakes on while I was half way across the road. He was driving wrecklessly and I've seen many people in this forum getting on their high horse for lesser things. There are idiot drivers on the road, we all know that.

sad part is all you guys taking the mickey about it .......do hope he doesnt do this again and its a toddler and mother crossing the road.. ...not so funny now is it:(

Exactly. I genuinely thought this guy wasn't going to stop in time and hit me, it was a close call.

Why are you even crossing the road there onto a grass verge?

Was you climbing a tree ?
George mcfly:D. It's a good job all these speedcameras solve these problems:rolleyes:. I'm that is far more dangerous than speeding on a motorway, I don't understand why people speed in residential areas. My street is a 20 and I do feel I'm the only one that does that:p.

Glad you’re alright @Merlin5.

There’s a time and place for everything, sounds like the driver was too immature/stupid to realise this.

I think you need to take your anger out by cooking some florentines and Jaffa cakes, I’ll be round soon!

I once had a guy step out into the road in front of me and gesture violently at the 30 sign painted on the road in front of him.
Which was all well and good, except I was doing exactly 30 on the speedo at the time.

You have my sympathy OP. Glad you are okay. Stay safe.

What car was he in

Thanks. Not sure tbh, can only remember it was a smallish black car with no hub caps.

Haha, yes, I need to get back to some baking. :D

It does look chicane like to be fair, clip clip power.

Ive not helped have I :(

In my youth we regularly used a single track backroad, usually at high speed in broad daylight.

There was one stretch with what my mate referred to as a "chicane", I maintained it was a "kink" and could be taken flat.

Clipped the arches on both sides of his MG Maestro when he tried to emulate my technique.

Did it have an illegal numberplate?
By illegal do you mean "illegal illegal" or "OCUK thinks its petty a law anyway so it is misspaced to spell my name and I bought them as show plates - illegal"

A friend went to court for dangerous driving once. He had been driving like a tit and cut up a police officer. The police man said at court the driver was just a few feet from his bumper. He was asked to clarify. The officer said 'about 17 foot!', at which point my ***** friends dad jumped up from the viewing gallery and said he could fit his caravan through there. He lost his license.
