hi good job i don't know a eunice but the storm has caused me a financial nightmare...

only 2 fence panels but I managed to save both fence panels and they are hopefully reusable.

The land has quite a steep drop, one side is the house higher up (which I will re-attach the fence to as it was solid there)
somewhere in the middle there is an old type of concrete post that is NOT Slotted, that's been there for many a year then right at the end is a slotted concrete post (I installed this about 5 years back myself)

one person came over and suggested to just put decking directly into concrete posts etc, yer it'll look nice but my heart just can't get over the fact of how much land I will lose to my neighbours gosh hard enough to buy these days....

I'm thinking of taking the old post out and replacing it with 2 x new slotted concrete posts either side for a perfect fit for the fences, however
I will be left with a horrible gap in the middle (not sure on measurement but prob 300-500mm)

question is what exactly can I do with this gap? I mean OSB board right in the middle don't look great does it?

or anyone else got solutions here? and what does one use to drill directly into concrete posts?

yes I think that'd help...

I mean to be honest the first person who came over wasn't really that expensive
he was asking for about £150 for labour but this isn't just about costs for me

it is about maximising my land, but I am a little nervous about digging holes etc on the bordeline
last thing I want is to upset my decent neighbours here.

get a spray can and mark where the new holes are to be, then get your neighbour to agree it.

Our fence at the back is just concrete pillars, with 3 wooden battons attached and then vertical boards nailed to the battens. Quite simple and 10 metres only took the guys less than a day to put up. Are you seriously saying you worried about losing 4" on land in your garden (thickness of post).

yes it really bothers me
Might sound petulant but big deal for me losing land etc allbeit a small amount though
Aint easy getting a property and land aint cheap here

Ok so it looks like this…

the land drops a lot on the left hand side

that gap isnt big enough for a 1838mm fence panel etc its too large for that

the panel against the wall had really good support and was fine
Its just the concrete post in the middle isnt a slotted one

How big is it actually

If its not massive, I would be tempted to make a custom panel myself to match the one you have there (which is basically a standard panel)

prob 2/2.2m

but that custom made panel will not have a gravel board or whatever its got underneath it all along the wall way

plus ive never really made a fence panel before not best with wood etc
