Puts OcUK as pretty much the best pricing in the UK I believe. :)

Tempted by that Gigabyte 6800XT its at a very decent price for a very good graphics card. In Red dead redemption at 1440 it does 90FPS, just shy of 93 FPS for the RTX3080 & also its less power hungry than the 3080 which is good.

It actually is really good to see but it's still only £200 less than what I paid for mine pre-pandemic

To be honest if we had the shipping cost and fedex rate of pre-pandemic the 6900 XT would be closer to £629 now and the 6800 XT around £499, a totally pathetically weak pound and shipping rates 2-3x higher than previous means the GBP cost is not so great. I will be honest, our cost is $700-750 on the 6900 XT, then add shipping cost and convert with a 1.17-1.19 rate. When the 6900 XT first came out we were paying around $1400 for them, so buy cost has half, but the pound is weaker and shipping cost are 2-3x higher.

Sadly i dont think any company will tell you 'yeah, wait 6 days and we'll have 8% more off', they'll just be shooting themselves in the foot for the next 6 days as everyone waits to buy.

It's overly hopeful but the 4080 12gb is a direct competitor to the 3090 at the same price point so we should see the 3090 drop in price to shift stock and that should squeeze the 3080's down and by virtue the top end of AMD should follow a bit as well.

I wonder if this will happen. A lot of people are priced out of the new cards so I don't see an incentive for them to drop the price.
Large group of people I've spoken to are determined to just wait another few months for the 4070/4060 and 7800/7700. They've waited a while already what's a bit more, especially with the start of this cost of living crisis and such
