"The markets are not responding even after sacking the chancellor" - says Labour - meanwhile the FTSE is up 1.42% this afternoon......

She'll be gone soon. You can forgive poor media training if the talent of the individual outweighs it but Truss just doesn't seem to bring anything to the table to make it worthwhile keeping her as leader.

That's 1.42% up from opening, not just this afternoon. Biggest jump was in the morning as expectations of a u-turn increased.

Business people that know what they're doing. Not corporates. Trained expert doctors that know how to run Hospitals and GPs. Same goes for Fire, Police, Education, get rid of the politics running through and that's destroying everything. I'd rather see people like that run the country than failed career politicians. People that has been trained in their fields from Markets, to Finance, Police, Transport that has a long time trained experience. I don't want to see box tickers. I want to see people who know their feilds make an efficient country. Career politicians and Administrators as well as their pals of pals cannot deliver it.

And what happens when we'd rather have someone else in charge?
Boris isn't a sexual predator - the number of kids and affairs suggests an in demand master swordsman..

But your blanket forgiveness of changing the rules to let a Sexual Predator keep his job, tells me that you find this behaviour acceptable.

Boris cultists are weird.

It's going to be a massive u-turn. The gamble now the damage has been done, is will rates fall. Can you imagine a u-turn and the rates stay the same

inflation high in 'murica, rates will likely be going up again there, we'll probably see some more rises here too.

The 2 are not connected - of course interest rates will rise further - as they are doing around the world. The BOE had already raised interest rates before the mini budget. Interest rates rise to control inflation - which in turn is being caused by increased costs - which is being driven by increased fuel prices - which is being created by the war in Ukraine. Its a world problem not a Uk /Tory Govt issue.

bond markets and gilts are still in the gutter, and they are the ones that matter when it comes to mortgages, pensions etc.

Labour are right in this instance, the markets have not responded to these so called reassuarances. Removing Kami Kwais clearly not enough to stabilise the markets.

Of course not. But because I'm capable of having enough of a rounded world view to suggest that your knee jerk defence of Tory Sexual Predators is a bit weird, I must be one too?

You sound smart.

No, it's just a shame this country doesn't have enough of its own energy

Business people that know what they're doing but definitely not corporates. OK pal.

There's business people and business people who only work for shareholders. There's all levels of people in business over the span of 30 years. Some care about their communities, business and profits and there's the others that only care about profits and nothing else while letting everything else burn around them. Finding the right ones is a task on its own but they do exist and they're usually the ones you don't hear of who just gets on with it.

so now that she has cancelled the cut in corporation tax, does this mean all those foreign business people who were going to move here full of ideas aren't anymore? What about all the billions they were going to add to the economy?

I mean why would it, it's not like he's personally responsible for inflation and even if there were some confidence in him or in a replacement or in a replacement PM or government things aren't looking too good in the short term regardless.
