COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

There is a lot of evidence that vitamin d can both fight it off, and reduce symptoms.

I'm trying to boost my vitamin d levels too as they are just below the range.

Irony I eased off vitamin D a couple of months or so before getting COVID maybe or maybe not connected.

All this talk of Vit D is verging into covid denier / anti-vax territory :p

How things change.

Being healthy is always going to help your immune system and any deficiency can't be good. I was suffering with being exhausted in the afternoons and so got a blood test where my very low vitamin D showed up. Have to say taking a high dosh daily has sorted me out.

I mentioned vitamin d in relation to myself suffering from long covid. I'm in groups with other sufferers.

People are trying different supplements to help them. So far vitamin d gets mentioned the most.

The governments need to get working on this because there is an economic time bomb being set as millions of people currently have long covid. The more times we get covid the higher chance of long covid. This health disaster is still on going.

Was just thinking the same. I remember some very shrill people in the world back then. :D

(Not that I cared about any of it, I just ate more and put on weight like everyone else. :D )

Not sure, within reason, how the talk of vitamin D is remotely close to denier, etc. territory - it is well known that being deficient in it (and a lot of people actually are) with these kind of diseases can result in longer or more severe illness. Though so far studies focussing on COVID specifically haven't found a noticeable difference.

If people want to go all Joe Rogan with vitamin D, feel free :p

Whether it has any effect on COVID or not I believe it is a good idea to keep my vitamin D levels up. Even the NHS website recommends it (it's easy to become deficient in this country due to not much sun, particularly in the winter).

I only supplement vitamin D in the winter. The aim at the moment is out in the elements for several hours a day with enough skin exposed to get some sun.

Looks like they've gone back into COVID mode at the hospital, barriers, spread out seating, hygiene and mask stations all back in place.

I've just recovered from it. I had a week off work and it lasted pretty much the whole week, which was great...

The sore throat it started with was one of the worst I've had, felt like swallowing glass for 2-3 nights. That went away, then I developed a horrible tickly cough that kept me from sleeping properly for a couple of days.

I went back to work this morning feeling more tired than before the break :(

They only just took down the screens at the tills in my little Tesco last week!
