New salvage tier 1?
- Structural salvage is the next step in the salvage profession. Initially, It will bring additional functionality to the two salvage ships, The DRAKE Vulture and AEGIS Reclaimer. It will allow players to convert full ships into the resources RMC and Construction Components that can be sold. It will also bring an update to the way material is stored on the salvage ships. It will introduce the concept of “internal storage” which is a buffer in the ship that will fill. This buffer storage size will depend on the size of the salvaging ship. Once full the virtual storage needs to be emptied using the filler station.

- Salvage Functionality is now split into multiple segments after entering Salvaging Mode (Default Keybind: M):
- Hull Scraping (Default Keybind: G): The Current Salvage System to remove the hull from ships. Ff the Hull is not scraped off the material is lost in the process when moving onto steps 2-3.
- Fracturing Mode (Default Keybind: RightAlt+W): This mode will break up intact ships or derelicts into smaller pieces
- Disintegration (Default Keybind: RightAlt+S): This mode will generate the resource from the broken down pieces
- To start Fracturing Mode on a ship, point to the ship you want to fracture and enter Fracturing mode. Once fracture mode has been started, the ship will then break apart in a certain period of time based on the size of the ship.
- To Start Disintegration Mode, point to the newly fragmented parts of a ship and engage the Disintegration mode to break apart the chunks and collect them into the salvage buffer storage of your ship.
- Once the salvage material fills the buffer storage, have the filler station fill a commodity box and move to the ship's cargo grid.

- Please note for this release: Structural Salvage Animations and Audio is not final for this release. Currently the Reclaimer arm will not extend, causing salvage mode to not activate. Please stick with the Vulture for this release.

Do they intend on having some static/dynamic spawn wrecks floating around for scrappers/salvagers besides player-created wrecks?

If they are then I would hope some form of radiological or chemical hazard would be present for the better claims.

We already have static and dynamic spawned wrecks with missions

Good stuff from Avenger One

Entire orgs set up to hack the game and troll people, and Star Citizen isn't even a proper MMO yet.
I think from here on out Star Citizen will move pretty quickly, lets be honest over the last few years is hardly changed at all, its also been neglected with bugs up on bugs allowed to pile on top of eachother, its a mess, however hundreads of developers have moved off SQ42 on to SC, this is the point where development of this game kicks in to high gear, we are already seeing that, since Citizencon there hasn't been a day where some sort of testing hasn't beern going on, Pyro, Replication Layer testing twice already, there is talk of testing Server Meshing before the year ends.

Its best to deal with toxic orgs and cheat hacks now, kudos to these guys for exposing it and kudos to CIG for taking action in making these hacks none functional so quickly.

Look out for this in about 25mins of posting this

Finally got round to watching this and wow it looks amazing, I've not played sc yet but i will be soon and i cant wait to get started. I've always wanted a game like this and i cant believe its finally starting to get there. I just hope its not to long before it gets to the level they show in the vid, the tech is unbelievable. Not sure if we'll be able to afford a gpu to run it maxed out by the time its released mind you.

For the most part its already at the level they showed in the vid :) everything but forna and up to the Pyro jump gate, but Pyro is ready to go its just waiting on Server Meshing.

The planets up to that point and a whole lot more besides, the seemless transitions exte... is exactly how you see it in that demo, that demo is littrally just a spline moving through the existing game world, just with greatly increased speed.

Its full of bugs tho, be warrned.

Here is the first planet, Microtek, from the psace station in orbit, which hand an interiour, to the city on the planet, flying down manually, i recorded this 3 years ago, with as much slower CPU :o its also been updated since then, graphically but is largley the same.

Time Stamp on that one <<

This is Orison on Crusader, at night so you can't see the clouds, but they are there, also in the video, its the floating city in the clouds. And this is only part of it.

Here is the first planet, Micrtek

From wikipedia:
Micrtek (/Mikəˈtek/, Italian: [Micr*chefskiss*t'eki]) is the home of the Micr people, a cold planet which specialises in production of hardened water. The local Micr tribes create tokens in the likeness of their shaman for tourists with magnets attached so they can be placed upon ships metal hulls and not fall off.

Not gonna lie, i experienced the exact same thing but in a elevator. Fell right through the floor and disappeared, ended up in some tunnel. Held backspace and respawned in a hospital but lost all my gear that i had just bought . I really want to restart my character but i have no idea how.

I looked into the RSI page where i can reset my account but according to the details it doesn't reset my starting money or game progress so im kinda buggered.
