At that price, just buy a Nitro+ or Red Devil lol. Didn't expect the cheapest card to be the most popular, even when its no longer the cheapest

I think generally the world's populace is getting more stupid.

There are still the more premium models in stock at some places at around the £700 mark.....yet scalpers think people will pay £800 for the base model from a randomer on ebay

Once the premium ~£700 models come back in stock readily everywhere, scalpers are going to make next to nothing on trying to scalp an rrp card. wont be worth the hassle.

Apologies if I'm wrong, MSRP for both is the same $550 is it not? And performance from the HUB review I saw puts both of them close. Availability isn't amazing since there's tons more of the XT, but admittedly people could buy them if they could get past server issues. So the non-XT doesn't exactly stomp all over the 5070. I'm not trying to defend a bad GPU, just saying that the poor pricing of the non-XT makes it barely better than what Nvidia has.
I didn't say it 'stomps' over the 5070, hell if it had 16Gb Vram it'd be a different matter from a buying point of view.

It does look like a few are in stock elsewhere at MSRP to be fair and, yes, the non-XT should be cheaper.

E: Many 5070s look to be at £700+ though at the moment, not sure what the non-XT situation is tbh.

Hi there

Yes there shall be another drop tonight of MSRP XT cards.

This will be last drop and I’m waiting until later tonight to do it as site traffic will be lower.

I’m not saying when just yet as some plobker will no doubt post it somewhere giving the game away.

And behold... the lord hath spoken... I knew it!

@GhostDog1981 have your wallet at the ready mate!

Yeah, I'm not reading through 30 pages of this

Can someone give me the skinny on what went down in the UK please?

Over here MSRP models vanished online in about 3 mins. More expensive models lasted about 15 mins. I went to my local Microcenter and there was a line of ~120 people. Moved fast, but they sold out of MSRP models before I could get one... Wasted trip :(

6900 XT for life, baby! :D

Was tracking BB and NewEgg and it looked like pandemonium: cards in stock for less than a few minute. I did not head over to MC as I thought I might as decided to just buy from OCUK (but had to go with another seller ultimately due to site lock up).

In the UK, it was much the same, like the 5-series launch all over, but perhaps cards were available for a few more minutes. All reseller sites where I was trying to buy were freezing. Then, whodathunkit? A half an our later, 9070xts started showing up on auction sites for £900+.

My 6950xt is going up for sale as soon as I'm back and have my 9070xt nitro+ in hand.

Summary: Mommy Lisa Good! Daddy Jensen Bad!

Maybe... or the scalpers will just gobble up all those cards too. Their "business model" (if you can call scalping a business ) thrives on driving stock shortages in retail, so they have no choice but to keep buying...

I did not head over to MC as I thought I might as decided to just buy from OCUK (but had to go with another seller ultimately due to site lock up).

MC seemed to really vary a lot by location. TX, GA, CO seemed to have loads of cards (probably MSRP still in stock). My local in VA is pretty close to the city, so they probably had a ton more local demand, and at least to me seems like they had fewer cards. It's a shame as they had the Asus XT OC at $599, which I would have snapped up (sorry @Thekwango :p).

And yeah I couldn't get onto OcUK or the forums, thanks to Cloudflare :(

I'm pleased for AMD 9070 success and enthusiasm if only for them to compete more aggressively with Nvidia. They can now see gamers will flock to them if they bring a competitive and well priced and reviewed product with updated features that give NVidia's a close run.

Where are you getting the sales data from? I don't believe they have sold 162 Taichis and 169 Nitros but only 11 Reapers and 22 Pulse.
I assume it's taken from the graphics that overlay each image on the 9070 XT page. They highlight how many have been sold or how many people have viewed each card today. Not sure how accurate it is though.
