Tron : Ares (2025)

I'm potentially on board with this.

The last Tron movie had a so-so reception, that said if you watched it with a bottle of something fine and a good sound/video setup it was a fantastic concert/music video come movie affair imo. The fact Daft Punk (to my memory) handled the soundtrack almost entirely is probably a big part of the reason I hold that impression.

Weird take I know, but it was visually and audibly fantastic in ways that made the rest forgivable imo.
 
The first Tron movie is awful. It was ahead of its time in the visuals but is so dull.

The sequel wasn't bad, like you say it was kind of style over substance with an excellent sound track.
 
Yeah that last one wasn't bad, visually and aurally amazing and the plot was a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. Now what was good was the animated show, Tron Uprising. Unfortunately nobody watched it.
 
I don't know what's going on but allegedly the trailer will be the Tron bike rider getting chased in the real world by cops. I'm In!!

I didnt hate Tron legacy. Hopefully this one will be worth watching but I feel like there have been a lot of disappointments in terms of films coming out over the last few years
 
This better be in Imax. Legacy is one film I wish was available on 4k disc or re-release for Imax due to the visuals and sound track.
 
I can deal with Leto as long as he isn't given too much free reign, the guy thinks he's some sort of top tier character actor and just comes across as barmy.

Good news on NIN handling the soundtrack, they're a very capable group and I feel that they'll deliver, whether to the degree Daft Punk did I've no idea but I'd be surprised if it isn't still great. Visuals look good judging from the trailer too, I'm cautiously optimistic so far but that might change as more is revealed.
