I will be in my mid 50's before I have the time to even play computer games like I used to. I gave my Series X to my daughter because I never touched it for two years. I just play the odd single player game on switch. Hardly anything is made with massive single player story modes of any length.

It will be great to be a big kid again when GTA VI launches!

my kids are 10, 7 and 4. long way before they get to play it, well my 10 year old might get to play it after its 8th update. If the GTA series had a profanity filter on the audio, I probably would let them loose to go round shooting stuff, racing etc. They do it in Minecraft and Fortnite anyway.
 
I was 11 when the first game came out for pc. Me and a friend would hook our pc’s up with a serial cable and play multiplayer all weekend. Good times.
 
There is just nothing like GTA is there? Everything about it (and RDR) always feels such a huge leap ahead of anything else. I imagine other studios are seething with jealousy at the hype it creates. Nobody is doing an "89 things we found in the trailer" vid for the next Ubisoft or EA release and getting a million views in 24 hours.

I love that people scrutinise all of this and I love that Rockstar know this and absolutely nothing in these trailers is there by accident.

I would have been the same age. I remember a Demo disc on a Playstation mag with a 5 minute timer. (Accessible to all children!) It totally blew my mind. I never had a Playstation but N64 instead so it wouldn't be till 99 when I got my first PC that I got to enjoy GTA fully. :)

Spent many hours modding the car files on that one.

I spent hours in Paint Shop Pro creating cars for GTA. The gold old days of dial up and Geocities site. We're you on the Gouranga!/GTAzz forums? I'm 40 in month, time absolutely flies.

It's all gone now, confined to the archives. I kinda owe my career to some of the things I learnt modding GTA in a roundabout way and it's been a part of my life since then. My long time in the GTA community meant mine a few others had their forum names baked into some GTAV wheel names. I haven't bothered for years now though. GTA Online didn't hold my attention and modding wasn't the same.

I haven't had a console since the XBox One, but I might find myself one for VI to satisfy my FOMO. My eldest son will be 7 so it's probably time to let him get into gaming on his own terms. Not GTA yet though

Yeah I remember those forums! I was no where near your level though. Most of mine were created in paint as a bit of fun. I mostly just downloaded all the great ones that people made. I must have had several hundred in the end. Making maps in RA2 was more my thing back then.

It's insane the impact it has. People I work with who never play games or haven't played a game since GTAV back in 2013 are talking about it and were looking at PS5s this week in order to get one for when the game launches.
 
I'm guessing it'll be like when 5 came out on PS3/360 then almost immediately the new Gen came out. We're about due another generation aren't we?

PS5 Pro only came out at the end of last year, realistically it'll be 2027 at the earliest for a 'new' gen console.
