******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I've jumpted back in after about 18months, and it is significantly better. Smoother, servers are certainly more responsive (no more click -> wait 3 seconds, respond), cargo is much easier to manage with the new grid system, I've not fell down a lift shaft since.
Some great QoL stuff like spawning in your hangar immediately, and also after death retaining your gear!

That being said, it's still clunky, and buggy. My last mission hasn't completed, therefore no reward, despite completing the objective :(

All being said, I've spend £35 on far worse, and far shorter experiences I can tell you that much ;) Been great VFM in my eyes.

Star Citizen is not a game, its a tech demo.... but a million people logged on this month.

I was gonna let this nonsense go, but nah. What you attempted to pull is too ridiculous and obvious.
OK cool, we're at the ignore stats stage of delusion, that's enough for me.
What stats are you talking about? All you posted, while avoiding the question you were being asked, was the current 858m budget over the 13+ year timescale and that it's still in Alpha.
I addressed that, so wtf are you talking about regarding me ignoring stats and what point are you even trying to make? Do you even know?

The fact is that you thought you could shut me down with that vague, weak sauce and your ego couldn't cope when it didn't work.
Then you try and run away, claiming I'm being delusional by "ignoring the stats"  Who are you kidding, other than yourself and a few clowns with suspect reading comprehension?

Assuming you're actually capable of getting past your internet pride and having a legit conversation that isn't just about you snidely mugging off anything that doesn't fit your personal Reddit view, let's be real here.

Well if Captain Katarn says it with his 18k subscribers..
Right, because subscriber count is totally pivotal here.
Seriously, man, are you drinking today or something?

It's Sunday and bank holiday tomorrow. I get it.

So I did get it, spend about 3 hours on it admittedly not knowing WTF i was doing outside of the tutorial.
No game breaking bugs or glitches, just needs a bit of direction for noobs like myself. I found myself having to google a lot of things the tutorial should have covered.

Will spend a bit more time on it in the week.

Yes i havent played it in a long while, yes things might of changed, but yes a lot of people DO blindly defend what isnt a game, its been in alpha for over a freeking decade! lol

If you enjoy it, more power to you, have fun, we all like different things, like i enjoy fishing, you may not, although it is weird to not like fishing lol

Wont argue over a alpha anyway, its not for me and im allowed an opinion, my opinion is that it will NEVER become a full game, if it does, it may be one of the best games out there, but i just honestly dont think it will.

Anyway, enjoy your gaming, im out :)

No announcement or anything like official, tho maybe that will happen at this years CitCon.

In a magazine CIG said they are aiming Star Citizen 1.0 for 2027 - 2028. So 31/12/2028.... two mints to midnight UTC.
If true Star Citizen will break the Duke Nukem Forever development time record by 2 years.

I don't see how they fit dozens of systems with the quality of the first two in those years and also still spending even more resources on new completely unnecessary shipbloat.

Ironically the scope of game seems to have fallen right off.

You are digging yourself into a haul with every reply you make i am afraid.

Please address the critisism and counter points that others have put on a plate for you instead of ignoring them and going into another tangent topic instead.

If you cannot reply back to points made, then either just move on or admit that the points that others have put across negates your views and points.

In other words. Take the L

People defend things and people also hate on things that they never tried(recently)

Its the same about everything. As i told you before, why would you care about people defending this product when all you should care about is YOUR opinions and feelings of the product?

Do you also complain and moan about someone who defends there fav colour because it defers to you?

Again why do you care? Why are you in discussion about this particular product that you have not tried in over 2 years?

Your points and your opinion are mostly irrelivent to a person who may read this thread and want to know the pros and cons of the current state of the game and you are in no position to comment on that as you have not touched the game for over 2 years and so, have no clue what the state of the game is right now or of recent months.

And because you feel that the game will never become a ful game, may i ask why are you stil engaged in this thread about a product you do not like based on trying it 2 years ago and a product you firmly do not believe will be finished?

Can you name me some products opr hobies that you have no interest in at all and have you also gone to forums/social media based on that product/hobbie and vented your negetive opinions?

I think people are having trouble understanding the difference between fact and opinion. So I'll break it down to help a little bit. It is a fact how much money has been raised and a fact this is still an alpha 13 years later.

I cannot provide stats for a made-up situation like proving how much the average player spends (plucking figures out of thin air), again for those having trouble understanding, look up the concept of extrapolation for how I came up with the initial figure, hopefully not too hard.

I have not seen such weird, emotive, defensive behaviour over any game in history like this one and this feeds in to the perpetual cycle of vitriolic criticism and victim complexes.
Plenty of times I've seen things posted on here that nobody wants to address because that would mean admitting the truth of course, so I don't see why anyone should be expecting the same courtesy.
As that song goes "you only get what you give".

I'd love to have egg on my face by the end of this and see it released, but I'll probably be dead by then, and sadly I expect a number of the original backers won't ever live to see it come to fruition. Whole situation is quite sad tbh.

I don't get also why when things are going well, instead of refining it they seem to be desperate to introduce a new shiny thing that then sets it all back for months.

Edit. Tbh, I also appreciate how annoying it is when people constantly **** on something (even when arguably deserved) so I'll strive to just post about what I've played going forward. I'll wait for the next big patch.
I won't be paying money to go to a conference though and clap at stuff that will probably never work.

Wow... Disingenuous doesn't begin to cover your take on what's actually being said.
If you're as clever as you obviously think you are, then you're capable of understanding what's been written.

Ed... Again with the vague generalisations and convenient stereotype application.
I don't think you're interested in a genuine conversation. You haven't been able to since this started.

@jonneymendoza The sunk cost fallacy really does work both ways, some people are invested in the negative narrative surrounding this game, that's not to say there aren't any negatives, there are... and these things need to be highlighted but there are also positives and talking about those will get you nothing but unhinged dogma from some.

It doesn't matter, it is irrelevant, they don't matter so don't treat them like they do, the game is growing in content, stability and players, its getting better, that is all that matters.

I had a lot of fun doing the Stormbreaker dungeon, it was difficult even with 4 or 5 of us, it was complex and extensive, it had depth, it had danger, its visually awesome, i've played a lot of MMO boss dungeons over the years, they are all pretty much the same, this is totally original, unique, there is nothing else like it.

I remember multiple posts of people desperate to claim 'world first' killing the big worm. Though thankfully the community were largely pointing out it doesn't matter for **** on an alpha, especially as I think it was on that limited build at the time.

There were multiple like world first kill with an Idris etc. As an aside, I've had a word with myself and like to apologise for the last posts, unnecessarily antagonistic and not providing any value. Not sure what was going on with me there tbh, usually far more balanced. Extended one to @Uncle Petey & @jonneymendoza
