Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

My sim only 12 month contract is up next month, looking around on sites like uswitch, looks like sim only prices have gone up  Some offer cheap deals for the first 3 months but then go up to around £8 a month (I'm currently paying £7 a month)

So much for "network mergers providing cheaper prices"

Might be worthwhile now just going back to a phone and contract deal given the prices of phones and now sims. Are the GS 25 ultra deals still running? IIRC, there was one couple months back where you could get the gs 25 ultra for £10 a month and after trade in etc. up front was like £300 along with the tablet.

Silver one was £865 for some reason, guess it's not as popular.
Paid just over £700 with the vouchers.

Edit - was going to trade in my old phone, it's worth £150 so price would be £550 for the s25u, but I'm just going to keep it as a spare.

my current S5(2014) screen is as good as the day i bought it

How many batteries had it been through in 11 years?

Keeping the same phone for 11 years is impressive!

I'm a sucker for the new shiny and use my phone a lot and so tend to 'upgrade' often (generally when the cost of the phone minus trade in and selling any 'freebies' is in the £400 - £450 net region.

The S25U hit that point on the online portal work works discount a few weeks back and so that's what I'm using now.

Same battery, but its only used in the house, so its on charge 24/7, battery only lasts like a hour off charge, still waiting for a good deal on S25.

Yeah I couldn't see anything over the past 1-2 weeks as good as the deal a couple months back so just went with a new 12 month sim contract for £8 a month. GS 23+ still going strong tbf.

Hopefully be some more deals/stacking codes on just the handset when GS 6 comes out. I was tempted by the pixel 10 but it looks pretty poor, battery barely any better than p9 and issues with the gpu/cpu not to mention, most of the main features that make a pixel a pixel not being available outside of USA.

Time to upgrade from my S23U.

Is the S25U still the best option? I generally travel a lot so want decent battery, screen and audio (over headphones).

Was tempted by the Pixel 10 Pro, but not liking the battery management advertised for that and want to get into some gaming.

I was in the same boat when I was upgrading. Pixel or continue with Samsung addiction.

Got the S25U and its been spot on for my needs, the battery life for me is out in a league of its own compared to previous Samsung models.

I've went from a few pixels and the s25u feels like an upgrade.

I don't know how old it is but battery health drops over time with charging cycles, if happy with the phone most cases getting the battery replaced will give it a new lease of life and very noticeable

With so minimal upgrades from models few years old and still supported with updates it really only the battery life suffering which can be replaced and it's cheaper

Thanks for the replies gents, I'll just stick with the S25U choice and get the upgrade done.

Looking forward to the non-curved edges on the screws , hate that on the S23U.

Went from S24U to Pixel 9 Pro XL then S25U. I will not go S26UI though given recent info leaks on specs, seems a bit of a sidestep only, same charging speeds, difference camera bump design but same cameras, smaller batteries? Also some naming nonsense to likely shift prices upwards aka pulling an Nvidia.

S25U has been exceptional though, battery life when used out in the wild heavily could be better, so maybe if the newer chipsets are much more efficient or we see new battery tech, then I will upgrade. Until then I just keep a small powerbank with me on days out if I am using the camera a lot.
