The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Considering one myself if bf6 turns out to be any way decent, looking at the pulse which is meant to be solid, seen some comments say the reaper is incredibly cheap feeling.

My last 3 cards have been powercolor red devil, Sapphire pulse and now XFX quicksilver- I don't really have an opinion. My sappire pulse 6800xt arguably looks and feels a bit more premium, but meh.

My son has the 9070 Reaper, nice card, pretty small, no issues with thermals.

I've got the XFX Swift 9070XT which needed the fan curve changing as it runs so cool I could slow the fans right down.

That's interesting... My xfx quicksilver runs pretty warm at stock settings.. Is the quicksilver higher clocked or something, as it's more expensive than the swift?

Edit.. Although the bios switch thingy on mine I've set to 'rage mode' or wherever it's called :-D rather than standard.

On the back of this, Anyone found a comparison of 9070xt that are fan and noise equalised? From what I can see its xfx mercury and the nitro+ at the top of this? Or are there any other recommendations?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I think it addresses that in the video.

60c at full load????
Pretty much, but that was from memory and before any tweaking apart from setting -80mv with full power limit so arguably it'll be sucking up more power than stock.

So I've just looped Heaven for 20mins on current settings (-50mv, -9% power) GPU hits ~280W, 62C, 77C hotspot, fans hit 1400rpm.

This is broadly in line with that HUB video ^ but remving the power limit means it hits about 315W (from memory) and will be a bit warmer. Also bear in mind the Swift performs a little (literally a couple of fps) slower than other models as it doesn't boost as high, fine with me though!

The 9070 was so deliberately badly priced to push the XT they didn't move an inch but now they're 500 vs 600 for the XT so you pay 20% more to get 10% more performance.
Very true, but the 9070xt are bloody good. Totally sorted my rig out this week and put a third nvme drive in it. Really pleased with how quick it is. Roll on bf6

Cheers for that.

Looks like i want the Mercury i think? Too bad the Nitro+ is not in black, would have preferd that but would look out of place in the grey in my case.

Yes, I would like there to be a black version of the Nitro+ (or at least a very dark grey).
I also like the Red Devil, but there the prices creep up quite a bit for, realistically, not much gain.

19 degrees room temp
Case/CPU fans on very lowest speed 400-600rpm
GPU temp idle 27 (windows)
GPU hotspot idle 31 (windows)
memory temp idle 52 (windows)
15% GPU fan speed 700rpm

game
gpu 59
gpu hotspot 75
memory 52

XFX quicksilver is just plain black - it has some plain black magnetic trim included that you could swap out or paint for a coloured accent if you want.

2 mins in on this video shows it: (vid is a non XT, but I have the XT and it has the same removable magnetic trim).

I only just noticed the other day, it says on Sapphires website that the Pulse's use 'Honeywell PTM7950 Thermal Interface Material (TIM)'.

Do all the 9000 series use this?

My GPU temp never goes above 58c-59c.

I’m very impressed with the Red Devil 9070 Xt. You can see my worst and best score in steel Nomad which is in line with expected performance. Tops out at 61 degrees iirc with the average at 59.

-40mv
2714 VRAM Fast timing
-22% PL for 250w max draw
0% fan speed upto max allowed temp which is mid 50s (again iirc) with the fans maxing out at 900rpm 30% which makes my machine virtually silent whilst playing games.
81 Degrees VRAM
80 degrees hot spot

Really am impressed with AMD as of late, but I don’t feel as though they update their driver laptop as often as Nvidia..

@arc@css Did you buy a card yet?

Just to say I had a "full on" gaming weekend with the Sapphire Pulse.

So impressed with the card, and the service from OCUK.

It's been a win :)

Hope whichever you buy works out. I guess my pov is the Pulse is a decent bit of kit.

@Nate75 Not yet, but it should be this week sometime.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the experience with it, looking around the web, it does seem to get a lot of praise.

I haven't had a Sapphire card since owning a passive ATi 3450 256mb (I think it was).
That thing had DDR2 memory on a 64-bit interface! :D
