Octopus Power Ups and Free Energy Sessions

I didn't take part in the session today as I wasn't home and we had sunshine at the time. It would have been a struggle to use more than about 2kWh.

The figures have come through for 6th and 7th September - 81p (Car charged) and £2.43, so not too bad.
 
£1.04 for me this time. The last two sessions were 51 and 53p as I recall. So goes to show for each hour of these sessions i get an average of 52p.
 
You need those batteries, although you still won't make much.

£2.14 for one session, or 7.39kWh, which in reality is only worth £1.10 in extra exports

£1.56 for plugging the car in, putting the washing machine through it's boil wash cleaning cycle and cooking lunch. Can't knock it too much.
 
I got a small credit for having our car plugged in during the session, which while it was, it wasn't available to charge (was already at the charge target) so I don't think we should have got anything. Still, I'll take that as a small win since they've never bothered crediting the 50% off charging they offered!

Imagine if that was true! I've actually already called them three times, and spoken to someone over email about it. Still not credited. The last thing I got told was "We'll do it when we do it". About the usual service level from octopus ;)

There was mention on the Octopus forum that they were manually working it out, which is ridiculous if true.

It would be! It's interesting because some people have received credit for this session, and the last time they did this 50% off it was fine. So I suspect they've made a bit of a booboo somewhere they aren't talking about.

Must depend who you get on the other end, I had an issue with mine and they sorted it straight away.
 
I would say it depends.

Its manually calculated but from what I can tell having talked to them, by manually they mean its not an automatic system function but based on extracting data, performing the calcs (probs in excel) and loading some back in.

They need to deal with missing readings for example.

As I get all three of the initiatives, saving sessions, free national ones and free local ones you see each function a little differently.
Even the sign ups show you that.

One time one got missed they asked me what I had expected, I told them and they credited that to my account.
The proper amount turned up some point later and when I said oops I now have it twice they said not to worry.

I have now had around 200 payments from them, all seem to check out and they do vary in the time it takes to arrive.
Even though they state two weeks I have has some turn up after around a month.
 
Of all the free sessions it says I have saved the grand total of 9p. I'm not bothering anymore.
