Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 29th September 2025]

Our midfield like a polo got a big hole in it and teams just bypass it

We should have got some players in, in the centre mid terrible summer business.

But we said the same thing under ETH "these players will look better under anyone else" but that wasn't true was it?

So?

ETH was crap.

Amorim is crap.

Find someone who isn't crap.

When the players are all confused by the managers instructions, mistakes are much more likely. Everything looks dreadful.

It's nothing to do with that.

Individual errors happen with any manager - But his steed fast refusal to change ANYTHING formation wise is just insane...

You can't keep playing the same way and keep getting beaten badly, and still come out and say "it's all ok - will take time etc"

Spent £200 million in the summer on the front line, yet your most creative midfield player (Bruno) playing deep and closer to his own goal - mainly due to the formation...

I've been in the camp of giving him time - but it's now seriously at the point where it can't continue.

He didn't spend 200m, that was the people above him. He was hired as a head coach. If they sign 3 attackers then of course Bruno has to drop deeper. Shouldn't the blame be on them? What formation fixes this? We played a different formation under every manager and everybody complained about every formation :D

Any fan can accept time if there is signs of change and the long term goal, when Klopp came to us it wasnt turned around instantly but could see what he was trying to do in play style etc.

Changes he made at the club.

Hell id say more vision in Frank at Spurs than what Amorim attempted and he has been like less than 2 months.

Amorim is almost saying sack me as he has already said he wont change if utd want change then change the man

Will be an interesting post match interview. He made a point of saying how important it was to win this in the pre-match presser.

Surely Glasner is the target for Man Utd. Whether he is stupid enough to come here is another proposition.

I think he's looking to leave Palace next year anyway, so it may work out well. He's familiar with this system - but plays a version that actually works - and knows other systems too.

Amorim is frankly embarrassing himself now with his complete lack of tactical flexibility and knowledge. Look at him on the bench today too, head down, looks absolutely defeated.

Should maybe change the player recruitment philosophy then, scratch out the 'must have the footballing IQ of a particularly unintelligent sponge' requirement.

Should be 2-0, Konate having an absolute mare yet again.

We're literally set up to allow one of the best counter attacking teams in the league a 4 on 2 every time. Slot needs to sort that out quick.

When I looked at the fixtures today I thought this could be Liverpools first dropped points of the season.

Long way to go yet though.

Exactly. He makes the most sense at this moment in time, I think.

I think Amorim just wants to be pushed now.

Were too light at centre back and its a concern cause Konate form is all over shop so far, with Leoni now out as well far from ideal.
