My SFP Wizard has just shipped so it will arrive tomorrow. That's going to come in quite handy, especially for Intel NICs

Switch: USW Pro XG 10 PoE
UPS: UniFi UPS 2U

:)
That's a solid switch, as I am running one of those at the moment.

It's a night-and-day improvement over running SFP+ to RJ45's but I did have some quirks with the XG8 and XG10 at first getting them adopted. For some reason, they failed to adopt with a Class A network, so after a bit of faffing and trailing through the logs, I created a Class C network, which it defaults to, and then adopted them that way.

I know there have been a few firmware updates since then, so they should have corrected that issue.

I’m only running a class C anyway, but it adopted and updated just fine. I’m connected to my UDM SE via STP, and likewise my UNas Pro connected via STP. Theres an annoying bug when connecting the UNas Pro via STP that it doesn’t name correctly, and the alias won’t do anything. The work around is to connect it via RJ45 which I’ve tried. It does work but still annoying.

I’m running Wifi7 with some U7 Pro Max’s but there’s a few bits of kit I can use at 10Gb so going to hardwire directly to the XG10.

I plan on retiring my UNas Pro with a UNas Pro 4 so I can use some m.2’s as cache drives, and was thinking of getting their desktop NAS as a backup, or may use the Pro. Not sure yet.

I've been looking to do a similar thing with the UNAS Pro 8, but not seen many videos about a migration process, i.e is it lift and shift like Syno was, or is it a backup and restore? That said, I have not really been looking in any great detail of late.

I normally enable it by default, but your mileage may vary. It's one to test and see how you get on.

It’s because of the redundant PSUs which the 4 does not have.

A lot of the box is empty but the form factor of the PSUs mean the unit has to be a certain length to fit them in behind the hard disks.

Morning all

I’m going to be moving properties in the next month or so, I’m in a large detached bungalow and have 4 x UAP-LR-AP devices we are moving into a semi detached 1950s property and I would like to just have 2 APs installed ideally, I have POE Unifi switch, what would be the best cost effective way to reduce and upgrade?

Thanks in advance
