Whats the general census of leasing a car instead of purchasing?

In the past i have generally thought it was a bad idea, but i have been looking around and some of the deals are not as bad as i imagined.

I have 6.5k to purchase a car, but i then thought about leasing a car for 2-3 years with this money, by the time the lease is up i will have finished uni and have a proper job, thus being able to afford my own car.

The pro's being i get to drive a nice car for a couple of years without worrying/dealing with any expensive repair bills (warranty covered car)

It is just an idea i have never considered, so was wondering peoples opinions on leasing a car?

The only viable reason to lease a car rather than buy is if you want to buy a high depreciation new or nearly new car. The lease option with servicing can work out around the same price as cash purchase, minus the hassle and liability. Your talking £50K plus cars really though.
