Spot the difference. ;)

PS - site will be slow overnight. I'm pulling an all-nighter at work :)() and doing Team OcUK updates at convenient gaps, so there's currently heavy disk/database activity.

I'd noticed it was down:( I visit it most days & some more than oce to monitor my progress up the ranks for SETI & climate change. I particularly like the summary page that lists historically high positions:) plus th overtake stats. I'd be sad to see it go.
Having just got a 1TB dive I be happy to chip in a contribution for hdd or whatever you need to keep things going.
Keep up the good work you efforts are appreciated.

Recovery incoming...

marvin.markvgray.com-mysql_queries-day.png

Each of the red blocks is approximately 7 days of SETI@home data. That's the biggest project. I'm hoping that'll get to the end of June by Friday morning.

As I can't do anything on this over the weekend, I'll schedule the longest job for then (complete reconstruction of Rosetta@home, for which I have no backup at all).

Another update.

As you can see above the graph is still going bonkers.

It's on the slow burn of SETI updates now. Currently in mid-July but as it's averaging one update per hour it'll be munching away at that data for 3-4 days.

Rosetta is (almost) back up to date already, so come the weekend I'll open the site back up with just SETI and Rosetta, and take the other projects from there.

Going to spend a day on it this weekend attempting to fix the URL issues. It really needs an overhaul but that's at least 12 weekends' work, so I need to judge if that's going to be worth it, not to mention the ongoing £100+ per month cost.
Hey Mr. berserker, it's been a while.

I have a VPS in the Equinix Chicago Data Center, 4GB of space and 1000Gb bandwidth (dont know if that's enough). I use it for development projects, have about 8 or 9 free IP address'es and my own name.servers etc.

In the interests of saving cash and still providing this valued service, I can set up a deticated IP account for you to host the site, just need to tell me what you need, ( # Parked domains, E-Mail Add'es, Disk Space, bandwidth, the usual junk). Takes about five minutes to do as I'm sure your aware.

It's there if you want / need it.

Thanks for the thought but it'd beat on that VPS until it cried out for forgiveness.

Yep, it would be moaning a good bit :) .. well, if there's anything we can do, lets us know, it's there if you can use it.

Database status @ 11.30 PM:

SETI@home: 23rd October 2008 (up to date)
Rosetta@home: 24th October 2008 (up to date)
Climate Prediction: 9th February 2008
Predictor: 15th July 2008 (up to date)
LHC: 10th April 2008 (updating)
Einstein: 10th February 2008
BURP: 24th October 2008 (up to date)

I've been prodding the SETI@home data throughout the day today while at work and all the data is in place to bring it back up-to-date. That'll happen overnight.

Currently doing the prodding for Rosetta@home and I'll do the catch-up on that tomorrow morning.

I'd like to do Einstein and Climate before bringing the site up, but that depends how quickly they update.

Plan is to bring the site live Sunday night with whatever projects are ready at that point.

Are there any projects people are particularly keen that I add?

Would anyone object if I kill off Predictor@home as it looks like it's dead (alternatively I could just prune it down to the last available stats).

Hi Beserker,

Even tough I do not have access to any firepower any more

I do check the stats of the team fairly regularly.

I noticed that even though in the heady days of Team OcUK kicking butt in Seti Boinc I reached number 4 in the world, I only managed number 24 in the country

Not that it matters any really, was just confused ;)

Keep up the good work
