Taking pictures off a 350D in XP

It's been ages since I've used my camera and I've recently reformatted my PC - can someone remind me what esoteric combination of software and drivers I have to use to actually get the pictures onto my PC

Just plug it in and import. Simples.

If you mean import in photoshop, for some reason the camera isn't being recognised.

Hmmm, odd. IIRC there is an option in the camera menu to select print/ptp or whatever they used to be. I remember this used to be a problem.

I've found this option in the menu. When I have it on PTP/Print then XP sees the camera as empty, when its on PC Connection then XP sees the camera as having lots of empty folders on...

Are you running a lite version of windows?

The PTP WIA drivers are included with Windows.

I've heard you can't use Mass Storage with older Canons, but it may be worth looking for it in the menu.
