Sweet lid! XR1000 Rogue aint it? I remember searching high and low for weeks for one in my size this time last year to no avail, then a couple of days later, my mate rocks up wearing one so I had to buy a different colour scheme, think it was the Caster i got in the end.

Did you get a discount on it with the newer model XR-1100 out now? Glad to hear that things are coming along regards your rehab.

Cheers dude :)
I will let me sister know....

Had my first pillion ride yesterday! Brother took me down christchurch to get my new car, tried my arlen ness suit but being new and stiff hurt my knee too much so put on the bks suit :p
Didnt like going pillion before my accident think its been two years since I have done it, so to say I was worried was an understatement :p

I agree with the pillion bit, Saturday just passed I had to do it with my Instructor up front, was trying to show me something random and wasnt understanding him, (unrelated to learning to ride) he took off like a rocket, to which I was like :eek:

Fair enough he is an advanced rider and Instructor trainer but being on the back and not in control made me a bit iffy.

Good to hear you’re healing, but that rod sounds a bummer, hope it works out ok.

Sweet leathers, they keep tempting me every time I see them in George Whites, but last time I recall checking them out, the price was higher than my £600 BKS two piece  Happy with the ‘kangaroo mix’ ones I picked up for £300; although my recent off has messed them up a bit, but they’re still wearable :D

I like the lid, I’m going to get the 1100 when I’ve had the bike fixed, tried it on in the showroom and loved it, it also has some pretty rave reviews, seen as it is built off the 1000.

Bit of an update from me.. if anyones interested :p

Had my 3 monthly hospital checkup yesterday and kind of good/bad news, Leg is healed well pretty much all white on the xrays now so thats great, and I have noticed last few months its been a lot stronger, I even played my first bit of football last week, was in pain for about 4 days after though :D

On the other news my arm is still busted :( saw a new doctor this time and he was abit ****ed off that its taken them this long to realise something is wrong, from looking at the xrays probably 60% of the bone is not healed together so thats why im in pain all the time lol
So I am now waiting on a letter to see when i will be having an operation to sort it, will be at least a 2 month waiting list apparently...

They are going to cut my arm open, rebreak the bone, clean off the ends, pin it, then also add a metal plate for strength then either use synthetic bone or take some bone from my thigh to help :p

So thats about it from me, with that happening I doubt im going to make it out on track this year :(

Glad to hear you're improving mate. Glad to hear the leg is doing better, but gutted about the arm. Always annoying when you see one doctor who says one thing, then go see another and they say something completely different and get annoyed at the first doctor for being useless heh.

Just say your arm is giving you more and more pain, try and get under the knife quicker!

sorry to hear you need another op buddy but if it fixes your arm up and gets rid of your current pain then its all good. Bone graft stings a bit, I had a chunk on my hip taken out and put in my leg where it was crushed to mush. At least the pan of the graft will take some of the pain from the other op away :p

Take it easy on the leg injury though, some proper strengthening exorcises at the gym might be a tad safer then risking a bad tackle.

Hope you manage to get it all fixed this time.

I bet you are excited about getting a new bionic arm you just want to be like "Del Spooner"

Hard to say really with my arm still in paint most of the time, just feel broken still lol
Leg is getting there loads, got my last Physio session tomorrow, then a session with her next week to have a look at my knee, hopefully she will tell me it just needs more physio or the pain I am getting in it is permanent....

Mentally I am fine too :p Can ride again no problems, the crash has affected my road riding though, I am seriously cautious around blind bends which I guess is a good thing as I am now riding out to the line for better visibility!
Just want my arm fixed now so I can go back on track!

Happy Crashiversary!!! Gonna re-read these pages to see if I can find those pictures in the modded wheel chair :D

Passed the two year mark of my crash last month - still no closer to a settlement on the claim and the future of my wrist is uncertain; operation needs to be approved by my GP first off, so I have a referral for that in September!

Oops, sorry for the thread-jack!

I live in hope!

Last update on it was that after reviewing the MRI scan I had done in January this year, the medical team for ‘my side’ advised that I should have Arthroscopic Surgery, that suggestion was put to the other side and they said before they would authorise payment for it (on a private basis) I would first need to ascertain whether the operation can be done via the NHS and the associated waiting time…

It’s drawn out for several months as I switched GP surgeries back in May and my old surgery didn’t send my records out to the Local Authority; I waited the 6-8 weeks they said it would take before finally calling to chase them up, only to be told “they’re still here”

After getting in to see my GP armed with all history, they are unable to advise if said surgery is required, as none of the private medical paperwork from the solicitors mentions anything about an operation, only that a CT Scan may offer a better view of what is going on in my wrist….

Got a reviewed booked up via my GP, with a hand specialist at the local private surgery (via NHS though!), in September, so I’ll have to wait and see what they say.

Last settlement offer was for £12,500, prior to that it was £10,000 – but they keep giving me offers before I have had everything checked, so I have been refusing on that basis alone so far, personally I also feel that the figure is quite low as well, considering the impact this has had on my life :(

How’s that for a thread jack ;) :D
