I recently watched a programme about call centres in India and they're viewed as one of the most high up, respected jobs in the country, getting paid even higher than doctors.

However, regardless of that, the pay is horribly low.

True. The guy on the programme also had to pay for his mother/father, etc so probably not so good for him!

Edit: Oh yeah, pretty sure he couldn't afford to move out on what he was getting, so had to continue living with his parents.
