This projects been going on for a couple of years now, so I'll just post pics and place text in-between some parts, especially the part where the fairings go.

Purchased the bike in 2008, and it's my 2nd big bike since passing my test in 2006.

And then the bug bit.... modding...oh god!!!

within hours of getting it home the stock cans had to be dumped, and the catalytic converter, saving around 16kg in weight. To be replaced by a limited edition titanium Racefit Mega weighing 900g.

That's when it clicked, blimey! weight saving! and so it begun....

Keyless fuel cap, saved about 0.5kg.

Then the stock footrests stuck out due to them being silver, so they were stripped and sent through the powdercoater. Result...

After being on various bike forums for years, I'd occasionally see the odd bike written off due to frame damage via it going down the road, or the bars hitting the frame, so a set of carbon frame protectors were order. BIG MISTAKE!!!

That's where my carbon fetish begun....

Cue, another carbon order, this time from TYGA.

then the swingarm looked silly because it was surrounded by carbon. So... Covers.

Then, to stick out from the crown, stock tail dumped for a decal plate.

and under tray sprayed to match.

2 x more mods, dump the stock reservoir and bring in a HRC kit, and also a custom made set of HEL brake lines, White with black fittings.

This is when the bike changed, winter 09 and I struck a deal with a carbon company, I send them my fairings, and I get carbon fairings in return. So all this was sent off, and i replaced the most needed parts with home sprayed matt black items.

Carbon fibre looks so awful.

+1

Not a Gixxer fan really.

I see what you're doing but i like a bit of colour on my bike, maybe it'll look better with full carbon fairings, ill await pics!

Good dedication to the project though, i spent last year messing about with my RF6 and this year is for riding it more, although i covered 10,000 on it last year:eek:

What is the stock weight?

So how much do you think all this modding has cost or dare you not answer in case your mrs reads this :D

IIRC stoick weight is a smidge over 200Kg, about 202-203Kg. 150Kg now seems very optimistic. I'd bet on it being a fair bit heavier than that.

Awesome bike regardless of the weight though
