If anyone wants to buy me some gloves feel free LOL.

Bought some Frank Thomas ones at the march bike show. damn things are falling appart and Im not using them all that often.

I bought some Wolf Kangeroo Skin Race gloves just the other week, really happy with them, the leather is very nice, great feel through the grips. RRP is £99 but if you goto the bay and search for

Wolf Sport 1000 Kangaroo Gloves

they have them there for £59, bloody bargain for decent qualtiy Kangeroo skin gloves.

Hmm they must have been on sale when I saw then then, as they were about £80 I think, still good gloves though!

May take a look at these myself as I need a replacement waterproof glove
http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/product/racer-multi-top-gloves/224

I've got the Racer High Racer gloves, they are fantastic, great feel for the levers.

I'd avoid the Multi Top gloves, I had them previously, for wet weather I'd get the Racer Aqua Novus gloves instead.

The Multi Top are like the Racer High gloves, but without the venting and with a waterproof membrane fitted.....unfortunately the waterproof membrane is not breathable which means sweaty hands when it's warm raining or not. Also the liners come out when you remove your hands from the gloves when they are wet inside and are a nightmare to get back on.

The Multi Tops do stand up well when interfacing with tarmac though (as I found on a few occasions. Which is why I've stuck with the Racer brand.

Those Wolf ones look quite nice as well :D

Really getting used to the Duke now, loving the grunt and sound of the big Vtwin :D, even getting used to the diablo 3's it got on. The only issue I have now with it is the suspension. It's just not working as I want, its kicking me out the saddle if I so much as look as bump .

Just called Maxton, gonna get them to setup my bike properly for me. Going to see how good they can get the standard equipment working before I go down the route I did with my R1 (full factory fork internals and WP race rear shock) as that got pretty expensive.

The guy said £50 should do it, cant see it taking longer than an hour to dial out the problems.

Shame they cant do it until mid/late June becuase of all their TT commitments. Oh well, not that far off.

Quick question... since my Scorpion exhaust was fitted I've noticed a popping noise when I ease of the throttle. I think it was there with the stock exhaust too, but just not as pronounced. I assume this is unburnt fuel making it down the system and exploding? If so, do I need to do anything about it? Or am I fine scaring people as I ride past?

How much black soot is there around the exhaust?

And what do you ride again? sometimes its the pair system that causes it, to be honest I left mine on as I enjoyed the popping, continued to do it after I got PC3 and custom map so I wasnt worried about it.

Youve been on track haven you Kidloco? do you not find it better to setup suspension there as you can dial in changes after each session?

Yeah, I used to do around 5 trackdays or so a year on the R1 which I why I got it setup for the track. the 999 is for road use only though (for now anyway :D) which is why I am going down the route I am. I know a few people who have done this through Maxton and have only had good things to say.

Think it depends just how much it is popping to be honest. If its all the time then the fueling is off. Mine does it a little when I ease off but notthing major. Mr brothers SP1 (Twin scorpian system with PCIII) was doing it like bonkers, it was popping and farting like mad everytime you shut off the gas, I convinced him it wasnt right and he got a custom map off some guy that races them in the US. since he has used that it only doesnt do it half as much and is much smoother to ride.

Don't think there's any black soot.

Currently riding a 2009 ER-6f.

It doesn't pop eeevery time I let off the throttle, but it is quite frequent. Only rarely is it loud enough to give someone a heart attack though ;)

If the fueling is off, and assuming I know nothing about it, would the dealer be able to sort it? :)

Yea my brothers ER6 pops a lot when he changed his can, Im convinced its bad fueling with his too but hes too tight to get it looked at, You could ask the dealer but I highly doubt they have a OE map for aftermarket exhausts, you will probably have to go the Power commander or ECU tune route.

Fair enough, I had it done once for 'road setup' from an apparent suspension specialist at a crescent open day, it was crap lol, so I got it setup on track and to be fair I only used to soften it off a few clicks on the road and it was no problem.

The only way to see if its a fueling problem is to get it dyno'd, and then if there is a issue you would need a way of getting a new fuel injection map up and running (google 'Power Commander for all ER6 (Ninja 650) models')

On a lot of fuel injected bikes its reccomended that you update the fueling accordingly, my Termis came with a whole new ECU. trouble is it just adds more cost to the deal.

If it runs fine and it is sooting up the can then dont worry mate.

Ack, sounds beyond me  I'll have a word with the dealer and see what they say

Worst case, if I leave it as it is, I'm not actually damaging anything am I?

I would get it on the dyno and have a look, should not cost more than £50 and your dealer will prob know whos closest for you.

I cant remember which way aronnd if its too rich or too lean but one of them isnt good over a prolonged period, can burn out exhaust valves I think... dont quote me on it though, someone else might come along and tell me im talking ****** again :p
