2000mhz CAS7 dominator is only available from the Corsair shop online in the US and costs a fortune.

What I'd like to know is why did the timings on the cas 8 got worse.

I run 2000mhz CAS 8-8-8-24. The ones just out are CAS 8-9-8-24. They also have a little connector on the side which I take is for the new airflow pro leds.

The price went down from £350 to this just for the difference in timings.:D

I found out from Corsair.
http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68811

The latest GT 2000mhz uses 7.1 IC's and is made by PSC. Some users have reported it needs slightly looser timings at 2000mhz which explains the 8-9-8-24 and also higher tRCD +2 when overclocking. They also have an input built into each IC which is for the memory led module Corsair are coming out with soon.

The original GT 20000mhz uses Elpida IC's, not being manufactured anymore and are generally more overclockable.

The only cas6 gt's are 1600mhz ones and lots of places used sell them online. The fastest 2000mhz gt's are cas7 but only sold in limited no's from the corsair shop. The problem is memory manufacturers can only get there hand son PSC IC's at the moment, so CAS6 and CAS7 GT's will remain very difficult to find. Even the Corsairs online shop don't have them for sale at the moment.

To be honest if I wanted 1600mhz low latency dimms; I'd probably get the OCZ ones OCUK currently stock. If I still wanted good latency and higher speed I'd go for the current 2000mhz GT's.

I'd also like to know the likely hood of getting the cas 6 latency dominator gt's too.

the likelyhood of this zero minus five unless you want 1600mhz parts

2000mhz cas7 dominator GT is the cream of the crop and was only from elpida

you wont be able to get memory that good now unless you are very very rich/lucky

the original OCZ blade c7 kit was the same, you cant get it now for love nor money and it was astoundingly expensive but it clocked further than any memory i have ever seen.

to put the 2000mhz 8-9-8-24 kit into perspective
we had a 2000mhz 9-8-8-24 kit before that which cost £350+

the C7 kit if you could find it anywhere will be in the region of around £500
