need a bit of help and advice please . . .

currently I have built . . .

PC
ASUS Maximus Extreme
Adaptec RAID Controller
Floppy Drive
Windows XP

But its crashed again (2nd time in two months) - for about 2 years its been perfect and now its crashed twice - I can only get into recovery mode with the RAID Driver disk (floppy) which is a real PITA - so I am thinking about Windows 7 as an upgrade - questions -

will my hardware support a windows 7 install
I know the W7 drivers are available from ASUS
MOST IMPORTANT - will I still need to load the RAID driver disk before installing wondows etc

help much appreciated please.

There is a Windows Upgrade tool that checks your hardware Prior to installing W7, It'll be on MS site.

thanks for that - but I forgot to say that I cant boot into windows - keeps telling me that the vgaoem.fon file is corrupt and I have tried eveything to get in to windows/dos prompt to reinstall the file which I have a copy of.

tried everything - terminal I'm afraid - new install - what a PITFA!!!
