I had a Gen 2 GT3 on order but bailed when the climate went south, I too had a 996 GT3 and I couldn't see myself in a Boxster as I don't like roofless cars really, not as my daily form of transport. Did you have a Mk1 or Mk2 GT3?
Cayman is better, its got a roof so more rigid, you can feel the difference.
Interesting, would you still rate the handling of the Boxster better than the 911? How close is the Boxster to the Cayman?
Out of interest how much would a RHD conversion of a Z06 be?
No chance of a test drive in a GTR then? I know there expensive to run, but you gotta pay for fun man, don't be a cheapskate. Surely specialists would be a fair bit cheaper than the nissan stealers, as there the ones that the price quotes are from.
If you get a beetle or a hairdressers car ill never forgive you.
But yea, why is a Z06 not in more contention?
I dont rate the cayman or boxsters handling above a 997 but then i never get near the edge, and i suggest nor do most sane people.
My contention is this, you drive a car 95% of the time slow-ish, and what you lose in that miniscule bit of performance and steering feel by having a C4S is well compensated on rubbish weather days of which we have many and varied.
But **** all that, the bit the 2 seater drivers always ignore is this, sometimes you got an extra mate, sometimes you got 12 bags of Tesco finest on board, so sod that 0.000004 % of the time when a Cayman handles better, il take my chances and burn him off on the straights. With all my shopping!
Sorry iv had a few missed that, the difference between a boxster and a cayman, i dont know not a lot but then im the wrong person to ask, cos several smashed to **** cars ago i realised driving wasnt my strong point
Im not doing very well at getting my point over, what needs to be remembered is we aint comparing a 1.8lx mondeo with a st220 here, these are all ****ing epic cars EPIC, the so called lead belly will still kill 99% of cars stone bonker dead, it is no loss having 4WD on a 911.
If I could afford I'd love to own a gen 997 GT3 in black with bright orange wheels, think they look amazing and they are practically as quick with as the turbo but with an N/A engine.
You also missed the main selling point, you can also squeeze two birds in the back
Try getting 2 birds in the back of GT3 RS, they'll need a bad case of rickets to fit between the cage gaps.
