BS like that is what gives the paper a bad name - ie idiots like you posting fake front pages/stories to belittle the paper.

The paper gives itself a bad name, actually – it doesn't even need to be parodied. Did you read the genuine ones, or does your doublethink see no problem with them? They're almost as absurd as the parodies.

As much as I dislike the idea of defending a newspaper, I think you're right. The DM does have a habit of hiring 'journalists' whose sole purpose is to rile up the readers and spreading views that simulate brain damage (Hitchens, Littlejohn, Street-Porter) but then again it is a paper whose majority readership are women and I think they get more riled up by that kind of ****e than men.

Truth of the matter is that the DM has been a sensationalist newspaper since it was founded, indeed the purpose of it was to stir up emotion and to get you angry about issues when all other newspapers of the time were stuffy old papers of dry journalism. To the hard line authoritarian conservative economic liberal, the Daily Mail is a suitable newspaper. It appeals to a philosophical slant that is still very prevalent in society.

The DM gets a bad rap, but when you compare it to the socialist bog roll like The Guardian the differences are minimal. The Guardian hires idiot 'journos' like Charlie Brooker whose rants are not only asinine but often mis-informed and full of either blaring factual inaccuracies or just plain disregard for common sense and reality. Both papers are pushing a specific political agenda, the only difference seems to be that The Grauniad somehow retained its no-longer-applicable guise of being a factual newspaper.

Bottom line is that if you want the facts and less of the spin then you shouldn't be reading a newspaper that isn't pink. Read the FT and have done. Fact, informed analysis and news that is of interest to your average intellectually capable individual. On the other hand, if you enjoy poring over trashy column inches the DM/Guardian are perfect.

I dont read any newspapers at all now, left wing, right wing clap trap and celebrity garbage, the daily star in particular really annoyed me, every bloody day of the week, jordan/katie price or whatever you call that ****, dont give her the oxygen of publicity.
