After 8 years of development, Bomber Games has released version 5, the final version, of their Streets of Rage Remake. An incredible tribute to the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle series of beat ‘em ups, SORR features 19 playable characters, 64 enemies, 103 stages, and 76 remixed, remastered music tracks – all based on the three original Sega Genesis games and their Game Gear conversions. On top of that, it sports an impressive number of editors, modes, options, and other improvements.

awesome game.
is this going to be a remastered version or complete remake like golden axe was?

Streets of Rage Remake is a project created from scratch, it does not use reverse engineering nor a single line of code from the original games. It’s all based on visual interpretation, comparing how things work in the original games and trying to mimic it for Streets of Rage Remake.

STAGES
There are stages in the game that are either completely new or remastered, adding more colors, more scrolling layers, interactive details not present in the original games and much more
.

Superb, will it work with a 360 pad?

This was some info from an earlier beta

Detects any kind of gamepad, even the ones that didn’t work before (PS2 / X360).
So should be ok for this final :)

so it will look/play just like the original, just maybe a bit better? not all 3d like golden axe was?

Correct, think of it as Streets of Rage Enhanced edition, with new features, Graphics e.t.c

But keeping to the original as much as possible, it really is a fantastic remake

well this will truely be an awesome game then.
aslong as pricing is right obviously i think they should really do a pack similar to the sega genesis collection but with all the games being brought up to date, not just emulated. although all the new games have their place, some of the older style games would certainly fit right into the market too.

This is constructed of win. Love Streets of Rage. Any online multiplayer? downloading now.

Thanks btw.

Nope no multiplayer on this release because they deemed it too buggy so left it out.

The planned online feature had to be scrapped as there were problems getting the game to run lag free, even from early build. It would have taken longer to wait for an improvement on this, so it was left out and more time was spent on improving the game itself.

Loved this game but could never complete it on the hardest (unlockable) mode as it really needed a second (good) person......

Maybe I can finally find someone now.....
