The 30 inch monitor market

I currently have a Samsung 2693HM Monitor which still has a lovely picture after nearly 5yrs but am in the process of building a new PC and thought I would update the monitor to a 30 inch one.
It's a toss up between the LG W30000H, the Dell UltraSharp U3011 and finally the HP ZR30w plus anything else you guys can suggest.

I ordered the LG W3000H as the price was very good from Amazon but am haviging doubts.
Ive calibrated both the Samsung and the LG using a sypder3. The LG shows richer colours but the Samsung looks sharper, now this could be because the LG it straight out the box and hasn't had time to settle in yet.
I'm a little bit anti Dell but it seems the new one is very good.
Also the new HP is getting great reviews.
Should I stump up the extra £200-£400 for either the Hp or the Dell?
Are they going to me much better then the LG or even the Samsung?

Please help me!!

thanks ;

p.s. Connections aren't that important to me as I only play games and stuff and have no need to connect anything else to the monitor other the the pc itself..

Only you can decide if paying the extra is worth it.

Unless someone has owned the LG and the HP or Dell we've no real way of comparing.

I have the Dell U3011 and I'm very happy with it.

Unlike other PC components buying a monitor is very subjective so I'm not going to suggest you spend £1,200 on my say so.

The HP and Dell are newer models. The LG seems to have been around for about 2.5 years.

Ultimately if you're not happy with the LG perhaps you should try something else.

I was expecting something more from the LG, maybe expecting too much but I think i will return it as from the reviews neither the Dell or the HP are going to be worse then the LG.

Thanks for the response :)

I have the HP ZR30W and the Hazro HZ30Wi.

From those 2, the HP has better build quality, higher contrast at lower nits and more connectivity options. It also does not get hot compared to the Hazro when active and I think is the best monitor I've used/seen to date.

The hazro was around £700 when I got it, so much cheaper and its stand allows for portrait mode. Still a very good screen but the HP is a bit better.

I've steered away from the Dell one as it seems to have higher input lag.

Since connectivity is not an issue, I'd recommend the HP over the Dell.

I have no idea regarding the LG as I have not used/seen it.

I use my screen mainly for gaming, browsing, watching vids and some 3D work + photoshop.

Edit: Had a quick look at the LG screen and it uses an 8 bit screen panel comparable to the Hazro one, whereas Dell and HP use the 10 bit panels which offer higher contrast.
