It was all pretty lacklustre in my opinion. This is clearly a long way off still ie. at least 1 more E3 showing. Their making a point of having games like Arkham City and Assassins Creed, both which are releasing this year so everyone will have have played them on the existing consoles long before this even launches. I guess their trying to show we've got great 3rd party support this time, but I'm not going to be buying one to play ports of games I can already play. No doubt Nintendo's first party titles will be great but we didn't even see much of that which is again disappointing.

Honestly I can see Sony doing something with Vita very similar to what this controller is doing before this even makes it to market, they have after all experimented with streaming technology in the past with PSP remote play...

In a way, they are, but not in the same quick fashion for all media.

There is 'transfarring' from Konami which supposedly will allow people to continue their PS3 games on the Vita from where they left off.

The problem with current graphics is we're pushing the bounds of silicon. There won't be a huge leap from gen to gen. Maybe some people won't see much of a difference.

I think Nintendo are doing great pushing 1080p HD.

I think i'll go Vita and Wii-U :)

Aint that the "cloud" saving feature. You still need to shut down the Vita and boot up your PS3 and load up the game then load your save game.

The Wii-U is more of an instant transfer from TV to TabletPad.

When I heard that name I honestly face palmed, I did laugh though as it seemed like he was expecting applause when he announced this and the "New Super Mario Brothers Mii"

cringe.

Yep, which what I meant by it not being the same quick procedure in use here. Whether Sony now start to work on something similar is something which Nintendo should be wary of. I mean, it happened with the motion controls...

I don't care for 1080P on console either, it only makes a difference depending on how far away you sit and how large your TV is.

Alan Wake ran at some crazy low, 560P or something resolution yet it's one of the best looking games on the console. Resolution is not the be and end all.

I'm very sure the PS3/360 can't push games 1080p @ 60hz. Its more 720p then upscaled to the TV's native resolution.

Sorry but you are wrong. Both CAN do 1080p. Devs prefer to drop the resolution to 720 in most cases so that they can add more of other things. In addition, 720p = 921,000 pixels to render per frame, 1080p means 2,073,600 pixels per frame. Doubling the amount of pixels to render is hardware heavy. If the U IS as powerful as in that tech sheet then yes it should be able to do 1080p natively for most games depending on how pretty devs decide to make them.

Wipeout HD for example runs most of the time at 1920x1080 60fps. The engine is clever enough to drop that resolution down on any frames that need it in order to maintain 60fps to ensure smooth gameplay. Apparently the majority of the time you are in true 1080p.

Also, Reggie apparently just said that while the U will play Wii games it wont upscale them but render them at their Wii resolutions with no added AA or anything. What a waste of hardware.

Also the controller is not multi touch & has to be in the same room as the console. So no sending the kids off upstairs to play while you watch the tv ><

either he made up the list or that list only included a few indie titles with poor graphics that actually run at 1080p. I doubt you have ever played any of these titles so it is something new for you and most console gamers and you should be impressed.

I'm sorry, but how patronising, do you think I've never played a game in 1080p or above before? I do own a gaming PC you know, and furthermore there some console games that are natively 1080p.

you proved my point some indie games and demos that i doubt you ever played. all i was saying is that 1080p is a great thing and console gamers should be excited about it. i dont know how anyone can be offended by that. I own all 3 consoles as well.
