Ok so I just restored a system image of a RAID setup onto a new 1tb hard drive, I'm back on Windows now but it's still showing my old RAID setup in My Computer and not showing my new drive at all. But when I right click on the drive it shows that it's my new 1tb drive, it just shows it as 596gb capacity. (which was the size of the RAID setup)

Now two problems

- I'm not even running RAID anymore
- My other hard drive that still works, which was part of the RAID array isn't even plugged in

So yeah...does anybody know why this is happening? I thought putting the image on would just put everything onto my new hard drive, but it's basically just made it exactly the way it was before without taking into account the new hardware.

Oh great! Went to computer management, down to disk management and I had 335Gb of unallocated space so just extended that. Awesome.

Windows Backup worked really well in the end then. So glad I decided to start backing up as my DeskStar died out of the blue with no warning. Only lost 3 days worth of stuff. :)
