Spec me a a 27 inch monitor?

I'm looking for a 27 inch monitor, price limit £240.

There's not a lot you can get for that price range. Decent ones will easily exceed £240 mark.

However, for your budget, you can get the following smaller but very capable monitors:

This is the monitor i was thinking about getting but i was enquiring if there was any other options.

If it's purely for gaming and you don't want to stretch your budget, then the LG W2363D 23" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen (£179.99 inc VAT) would probably be the better choice. It would provide you with 120Hz speed (useful if you're a first person shooter fan) and options to play and watch things in 3D. Of course, the downside would be that it isn't 27". If you have the desk space and thought about eyefinity, then this would give you the possibility to do so in the future for under £400, which, to me is quite a good gaming upgrade.
