Why can't Siri tell me the time? But Voice Control can?

As title says really... Is this because its a location based request that aren't currently supported in the Uk?

the only thing that annoys me about siri is it needs a net connection to even do basic voice control stuff, the cloud will be the end of us i'm sure.

Yeah thats the 1 thing i hate about siri it always needs a data connection to do basic stuff..

Around where i live and work my signal is not all that good

Same for me, I get 3G but more often than not im flicking between that and GPRS quite often. Edge doesn't seem to exist here either, its one or the other

Still waiting for the Orange/T-Mob 3G sharing to be turned on where I am too. @orangehelpers on twitter stated they are hoping to have that enabled everywhere by end of year. Hope to see an improvement from it

And yes, Siri also tells me the time!

To tell the time Siri needs access to your location (go to Settings/Location Services) and map sure Siri is enabled in the list of apps.

it is all ticked on.
I turned the location based siri on and off and she read me the time twice
then she wont do again. says cant tell me the time on johnson close 6 -9

saying basically she cant find where I am.

Siri in its current state is a gimmick and nothing more. It struggles to do even the most basic tasks from my experience
