Hey all, we got stomped this week :(, but it's not all bad, our weekly dumpage is up, and some new members to add to it :).

Hot weather giving me some problems towards the end of this weeks stats otherwise I think we would be a good million up and back to chasing down the Pleasuredome.

Prod down for me due to driver issues, now thankfully solved.
Hoping for a boost from IB if I try out smp folding on winders.

OK so my output has been poo this week, really struggling with the heat, got an aircon unit but that didn't help much. :(

It was like the machine was running passive :confused:

It would just race up to 70°C on CPU4 and then die. Even if I clocked it back to 1600Mhz

It had to be flow, so I decided I'd have to bite the bullet and strip down the Quad Dodeca Magny-Cours beastie - Darkmatter, thats 4 blocks to strip down :eek:

And this is what I found when I opened the blocks up, these are blocks 3 and 4, blocks 1 and 2 were only slightly grunged.

Cleaned it up as much as physically possible with toothbrush distilled water and some vinegar, still the metal is quite blackened but at least its clean.

Then on starting to put the blocks back I had an idea, I'll reverse the flow.

The old flow design was like this:

So from the pump, to the cpu's in sequence, then to the rad, then back to the res and pump again.

So the pump was pushing the liquid vertically through 4 quiet restricive blocks then to the rad and a short drop down to the res.

Now (sorry no pic) I put the blocks on upside down with the outlet at the bottom and ran the flow:

res -> pump -> rad -> cpu's in sequence top to bottom -> res

Still not happy with the flow 100% but its much better and stable cool, and as CPU4 (top one) was always the hottest, now its the coolest for some reason :)

Thanks for the news Mr dekez sah, not folded for quite some time but hoping to return by the end of the week if i have my new build up and running fine :)

Blimey Mr biffa sah what a darn mess, how come all that gunk builds up if your using distilled water etc? :confused:

Biffa I feel tired just looking at the pics and imagining the amount of work that must have been! Glad it's running better though.

I'll get this weeks news up in a moment...
