Hey guys, I am looking to downsize and silence my media machine into an itx system.

All my media will be stored on my server so no need for much storage, Would like an ssd.

The most important part is my other half records a lot of freeview on the current machine and would like to retain this feature while downsizing. Are the usb based tv tuners any good?

What would you suggest?

Some/all Blackgold DVB-T2 cards are low profile. My BG3620 cards are much more reliable that my PCTV 290e usb tuner.

You don't metion what software you use but on the assumption that it can record to a network drive I would suggest:-

Passive E350/E450 MB+CPU (Asus look good) £88-£129.
4GB DDR3 1333mhz £19
Low profile DVB-T2 card £105
Budget SSD e.g. OCZ Petrol 64GB £50
ITX case to suit - budget ones inc psu e.g colours IT £30, thermaltake elememt £55.

So its more like £300. With ITX you can have silence or very cheap but you carn't have both
