2 monitors, 1 HDMI, Windows 7 = BSOD

Bugger just did a BSOD (ati file), 5 hours is the longest it's ever lasted so dropping the GPU core speed definitely helped.

Checked temps. No issues. Idles around mid 30'c, not bad for a 4GHz machine.

Will check event log for anything related.

I found a post on the net with the same event ID and the chap replaced his PSU to fix the issue.

Seeing as it was a clean install when this first started happening I would hazard a guess it's not driver related.

Time for a PSU upgrade.

I have a 7850 and had a similar issue the other way around, the low 2d clocks with 1 monitor caused the driver to crash when idle. With 2 monitors the clocks sit at 400/1350 which stopped the idle driver crashes...

Maybe the lower power 2d state coupled with the higher memory clock that the 2 monitors enable is causing the problem? I assume it must drop the voltage in the 2d clocks?
