Be a real shame if said sign just "disappeared" one Saturday night!

This seems the best course of action. Just put the sign in your garage or something. They'll get another, and bike chain it to a lamppost. Problem solved.

Just for the sake of comedy you could adjust the sign to list cheapo prices and watch people flock in.

Soon enough the owner will get fed up of someone adjusting the sign and stop putting it out there and instead display whatever information on the windows?

Put a wall up. Or is it on a public pavement, in which case just ignore it? Be thankful it's a sign and not thugs with pints resting on their guts smoking, shouting and fighting outside your house.

Borrow it? I get ashamed when my cousin tells the story of me 'borrowing' a set of mobile traffic lights and leaving it in my street when I was drunk one night.
