I think I'm at a similar level to you Rotters. Just got lvl 4 Barbs & Archers and researching lvl 4 Giants.

I'm not gonna bother with a Dark Elixir storage just yet, can't see me getting anywhere near 10k till I level up a bit.

Gotta start on my walls next, at 200k a pop it may take some time! haha

I'm starting to struggle to make enough gold for the upgrades now. I need over 500,000 gold at least (usually) and this means training and attacking with about six armies, while hoping I'm not attacked myself. It takes a lot of scrolling to find a base with near 100,000 for the taking - especially one that isn't super-high level.

I'm currently upgrading all my gold mines to the maximum in order to see if they bring in loads of cash by themselves.
