Has anyone else had any adverse effects OCing in windows 8.

Windows 7 = No problems
Windows 8 = Fails awfully fast in Prime.

Got grumpy and went back to 7.

Lets avoid random 7v8 arguments.

Any views OT?

My Win8(upgraded from 7) overclock is same as my Win7 overclock,ie both cpu and video card overclocked with NO issues.

Odd... I'm on W8 running I7 920 at 4Ghz with RAM etc also overclocked as well as 2 x 7970 in xfire also overclocked no problems. Was a clean install rather than upgrade.

Doesn't help you I know except that it would seem to suggest it is possible.

When I was using Windows 8 both my CPU and GPU overclocks worked great. Back on Windows 7 now though, kept trying to use Windows 8 like it was Windows 7 so I see no point me using it.

.
no issues here. 4.6ghz 2700k.

tbh you shouldn't spend all your time on Prime / IBT just use your pc as you would, gaming is a good test.

Yeah I installed Windows 8 whilst overclocked (adventurous!) and it was and is perfectly stable at the same settings.

I use LinX for stability testing.
