Didn't take me too long to find a group. Its not really a hard dungeon, and quite quick... but its awesome.
Why did you want to get to 80 fast? Personally I thought the lvling was far, far too quick, I tried to slow it all down.

I thought the levelling took way too long.
Or maybe it just seemed to take ages as I just seemed to be doing the same thing over and over...

I think you can level extremely fast if you combine all aspects such as completing the daily, crafting, 100% map and the odd dungeon run.

Personally I take my time as I really enjoy it, I focus on 100% and getting the daily done (flasks for karma armour :D)

Can I ask what it was you did "over and over"?

Work my way over to a heart mission, kill a bunch of things, then move to the next heart mission and do the same, then the next heart mission and do the same, then the next heart mission and do the same and then the next heart mission and do the same... then in the next zone, I worked my way over to a heart mission, kill a bunch of things, then move to the next heart mission and do the same, then the next heart mission and...

I know this is an MMO so it's all about repetition but it just felt more repetitive than other MMOs I've played where even though it has been pretty much the same thing, they've dressed it up a little better.

Each to their own, I can only speak from my experience where that rarely happens unless they are task based hearts (such as the clean up one around CM) you can complete all hearts through events and following them.

If you literally run from heart to heart and grind kill then I agree that would horrendously tedious, try instead doing events and getting swept along rather than the traditional mmo hub approach of completing everything around the hub (or heart I by his case) then moving on. The game isn't built to work like that.

Hope that helps :)

I played 4 characters to 80 and rarely found any events near the hearts I was at, so had to grind them. And the events were rarely any fun due to the way everyone just piled in. I was just worried about trying to hit things before they died in order to get credit for them.

Try a quick google?

Urgh, just realised its 20 wvw points for 1, yes 1, supply carry increase. I thougt it would be at least staggered in 2's to give you 20 but no 1's for 15 :p

It's a time sink rather than decent rewards sadly :(

Still it gives me something for my time spent :)

Only rank 5 mind :p

Somehow ended up in a really good wvw guild on seafarers. Royals (or something like that) I got myself an invite after leading a small 5 man team if royals who I randomly invited and we went round the whole map and took every supply camp as five men :D they got took back but caused a lot of disruption. What tipped it my favour was my heroic last stand. We took the ogre place and then a huge Deso Zerg came rolling toward us, they ran and I faced a huge Zerg solo :p I shock waved the front rank backward into a pack of ogres, stealth end then jumped a half dead Ele I managed to take out before they stomped me flat :p:D insta invite after my heroics :D:D

WvWvW is an absolute riot at the moment. It's a bit of a zergfest in the higher tiers but unfortunately there's not a lot anyone can do about that right now because you have to match overwhelming force with a similar force of your own. Alternatively we in YaK run a guild team most nights with full comms and usually smash face. Loot bags galore!

It's still possible to 'ninja' objectives with smaller groups but not as easy as it once was.

Absolutely loving my Mesmer still. Working on making an Abyssal Scepter to match my Spirit Links focus. Damn ectos cost a bit still, plus still salvaging every rare I get for them!

I still think they make it too Zerg rewarding in regards to ranking etc.

As an example you get no wvw points for guarding (unless attacked) no wvw points for guarding caravans (unless attacked) and no wvw points for supply shuttling.

I like wvw but they need to incentivise activities that will take away from the Zerg and spread the population out. Capture windows, more and stronger guards, guarding incentive and more activities bar killing would help.

They are very swift on the development curve so I'm sure most of this will arrive, I just want it yesterday :p

Final stage announced, bit disapointed as I've been enjoying it but hope it goes out with a bang like a huge Karka style event :D

Oh you mean having 1min+ or more skill lag and screen lag (server side), with monsters popping up out of no where? and stomping you without even knowing how.
Then when you finally make your way to the bottom of the big volcano thing w/e it was, the mob just stands there and lets you hit it and has a small chance to drop a pre-curser which ofc you don't get!

Yeh that was fun.

Oh I think someone needs the waaaaaaahmbulance because he didn't get a pre-curspr, poor bairn!:rolleyes:

Undoubtedly there were problems with it especially the lag and I was pretty critical of it at the time, but considering the game was trying something no other MMO has went near in terms of player numbers, length and size of course there were bound to be problems. Anet has seen problems with this game and improved it time and again, I'm pretty confident they could do it again though of course there is no guarantee.

Am I missing something here?

All I've done is fix broken signposts, res and heal wounded refugees, collect sonic plans and pick up a few trinkets and return them to their owners/collectors.

The only other thing was the last two mission instances launched by talking to Rytlock in the Black Citadel, and even then, they were short and easy.

What's been so engaging for you? Genuine question btw!

Flame & Frost has been far too slow to get going, but taking its their first attempt at an 'evolving world' event in GW2 it's to be expected. I imagine future events would bring larger changes sooner to keep people engaged.

Hopefully we can get something like the 'War in Kryta' events of GW1.

Saying that, it looks like this final part will be some kind of dungeon like experience, going into the depths to find out what the Dredge and Flame Legion have been doing to the missing villagers.

Haven't played this for a while but I'm going to pick it up again shortly with a couple of friends. We're all going to start new characters. They're probably going to be a thief and an elementalist. I was thinking that warrior might be a good class to support their choices. I tried guardian very briefly but it seemed a little dull. Does it pick up at all?

It all comes down to your play style however.
I don't think I have a set play style. When I played WoW, I've been a shaman, a mage and a warrior at different points. Ultimately, I want to play something that assists the group. I suspect with thief and elementalist we'll have melee and ranged DPS so it might be better to take a support class. Guardian seems to fit the bill, I don't know if Warrior would so much.

If you want to be a meat shield choose Warrior or Guardian. If you want versatility and a levelling challenge go Mesmer. Ranger is a healthy mix between ranged and upclose combat, dependent on your style. Engineer and Necro I can't comment on personally but I hear people who play engineers well have a great time with it.
