Got a WiFi adapter that I use to connect to the internet, but it gets so incredibly hot, and the internet drops out often. I don't know if it's linked but it's quite concerning. I'm now using another adapter, and that one is getting hot, but the connection is fine.......Why is this

Go wired mate, even if you have to bury the cable below floors, hide it behind furniture etc. I had a similair case with a netgear wpn111 usb adapter. It heated up and crashed my system. Solution was to carefully route a big long ethernet cable. No issues since.

Happened with my old one (belkin?), took it out of the plastic case and that helped for a while, but got a tp-link one thats been working great for a couple of years.
I can only assume they make them like that so you need a new one
