The team that created Wings of Prey, which incidentally is another great WWII flight combat simulator, try their hands at a MMO aircraft game.
I have had a tonne of fun since discovering this game.
Perfectly playable with mouse & keyboard.

Wings of prey, war thunders controls are terrible.

There's not many left that run on modern O/S, Falcon being about the only one though I haven't tried it on W7 64.
The classics such as the EA Janes series, Tornado, Longbow 2 and EF2000 are sadly now obsolete (unless you have an ancient Pentium with 3DFX graphics card to hand).

Cliffs of dover is now playable with the Team Fusion mod if you want a WWII sim, great fun on the Team Fusion server

Aces High II If you want a Massive Multiplayer Sim. Its a monthly subscription but the atmosphere as you roll into an area with huge amounts of players all fighting is immense
