Top two are both good examples.

Agreed, the top one is only about 50 miles from me. I quite like how it has a WR1 interior too, as never was a big fan of the blue interiors. The guy also owns a Ferrari 360. He genuinely appears to care for his motors unlike those who simply say they do for the sake of the advert.

Doesn't look like its mapped however, so would have to get that sorted.

ok, whats the catch ?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...ubaru-impreza-44s-wrx-turbo-awd-2003/1629975#

seems a good buy to me, just wish I had the money ready...

From the ad:

turbo dump valve and turbo booster

What? If he's talking aftermarket VTA I'd walk away - scoobs don't like VTAs without some very specialist hardware and mapping. And what on earth is a turbo booster? And why does it have an STI back bearing? What happened to the old one? Sunroof? I didn't think scoobs ever came with one? Which suggests a retro-fit - never good. I'll gloss over the STI badge on the back.

VTA is ??

blimey, thanks for that, sounds like one to avoid!

Whats the catch?

Its an over priced WRX? 34,000 miles? Yeh right...
Didn't even know you could get a blobeye on a 52 plate
You can get good examples of wrx's for around £3000 now, that's how much ours was (top of this page)

overpriced? I thought It could be a bit high if the mileage was a lot higher..

Thanks for the feedback guys

VTA = vent to atmosphere, i.e. typical blow off valve, psssssssssst. Versus a recirculating one, as per standard.

I must say though, I do fancy a VTA on my next Scoob, the HKS SSQV seem to be well regarded.

Re: price, I do think it is high considering what a 2003/2004 STI might cost you now. I'm patiently holding out for a 2005 STI, I forgot how bad the waiting was. I wish I kept mine, I'll never find one like that again :(

I may yet be corrected on any of the above, the other guys have way more knowledge than me on this stuff.

By who? None of the serious modders go near them, unless forced to by a customer. You can map around one, but it's a silly idea. (Edit: I believe that VERY high-powered vehicles use them sensibly, but at that sort of power the MAF is being bypassed anyway.) Making a noise that says "I've got a turbo" is fine on a car which usually doesn't have one, but WTF is the point on a car which everyone knows has a turbo? In this case it just says "I'm a **** who knows nothing about cars".

SL pack for the WRX consisted of factory sun roof, but you also got heated leather with that too. Not sure if it was available as a standalone option though without the seats which makes this one seem a little odd, but it could well have been an option on its own (although don't remember it being one).

Nothing wrong with a dumpvalve, or having it blocked off either. It does NOT affect the map. Unless it's a crappy one leaking air, or you replace your crappy one which was leaking air that you had it mapped on with one that isn't leaking, there will be no issues.

Yes they make a noise, some do some crap, some do sound nice. All is does it confuse the MAF sensor between shifts. Resulting in overfueling / a dump of fuel between the shifts.

Anyone who has ever had issues with dumpvalves has bought one which is not working right.

Pretty much sums it up, i had a FORGE one for a while and enjoyed it while i had it on (a few months) but ended up back with the standard recirc as it started to do my head in!
