This Beta is a complete stutterfest for me. i7 3770k @4.5Ghz, GTX780 @1100/ 7ghz. Frame rates on ultra 60+FPS @ 1080P 120hz. Feels like 20 FPS or so. Have the 331.** Nvidia drivers installed.

AMD/EA sabatarge I tell you! :/

200% scaling factor sends Vram usage to 2800MB+ never thought I'd see that @1080p

Edit: Using windows 7.....

200% scaling? So you're rendering the game at 2x 1080p and then down sampling with a single 780?

No wonder your game stutters

Have you / can you try windows 8? My 2500k is maxed 100% on all 4 cores but I get no stutter. Also if I set priority to low my framerates fall through the floor.

This is the opposite of what people seem to be reporting in windows 7

I don't have a copy to try it or a spare drive.

cheapest place to pre-order bf4? :)

Which version? Standard, Limited or Premium?

Why 200% scaling?
You are running it at 2x1080p and wondering why it is stuttering.

I'm still getting horrendous slowdowns. It'll be smooth as butter, then my gpu usage falls to the floor and so does my framerate. then my cpu catches up and everything is fine again. No discernible trigger either. Very vexing.

Buggy game coupled with an i5.

Temp solution use Windows 8.

Best solution wait for the final build of the game and upgrade to an i7.

I had lot of stuttering issues (along with many others at the time one here) with BF3. It plays very nicely now but only when frame rate is limited to 118 FPS, vertical sync off, framerate buffering turned off, all user config tweaks that I've had to make (based on users help on the forum) to make the game run nice.

I'd be supprised if the release version just works nicely TBH.

Dont need a i7 lol. Its the games/software fault not our hardware.

He has a crossfire setup so he definitely does need an i7 if he wants to get more than 60-80% usage from both his gpu's in these sort of games. Its the same with Battlefield 3 and it will be the same here, even with the final build of the game.

Oh sli setup ah k, guess a bit more cpu grunt might be needed for them compared to single cards. I only said what i said cos everyones screaming win 8 or i7s or more than 2gb cards lately which generally for non sli/xfire setups isnt needed or well i should say shouldnt be needed as i still firmly think its a software/games issue rather than needing diff os or hardware just yet.

Yep i agree. It changes completely though when you had a second gpu into the mix.

Odd, My VRAM usage doesn't exceed 2090MB on those drivers. (1080P)

I'm using a controller at the moment. Moved all my stuff in not long ago and waiting on a desk. I know, it's tragic... :(

Another few rounds. This time with V-Sync disabled. I tabbed out / windowed the game by accident which is the dip to zero (I'm guessing).

perhaps worth a GPU upgrade if you can afford to - sounds like a 7970 would be an improvement :D

Going by this beta version the best upgrade you can buy for BF4 is Windows 8.1. I would wait until the retail version hits then look at the benchmarks and then decide but at 1440 res I wouldn't want anything less then a 3gb card and Winows 8.1 assuming dice can't fix the performance issue for Windows 7 owners.

If bf4 is a sign of things to come then it would appear AMD's CPU's are going to enter a second golden era.

Runs fine for me on Windows 7
