Noob in the house :)

Hello everyone, how are we all
i'm a noob and it's nice to meet all you pro's so here it is,

my pour pour rig is in need of taking out the back and shooting, i've managed to make a Q6600 run @3.31 for the past 6 years lol on a p5q3 delux motherboard with a v8 cooler and 700w psu

Now i don't think you guys need to tell me its way beyond time to upgrade

So i was thinking
Mobo asus sabertooth 990fX (i am set on this board because of its durability so i am happy with that

ram i have chosen
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP i think thats ok to start with for this month anyway i will pick up another one of these in the new year

Card is a gtx 660 Super clocked EVGA i'm Cool with that untill the jan i will pick a 770 in the sales seeming as the 780 has pushed that price down a little

CPU
i am lost on
i've always been a Intel guy but the price of amd can't be ignored anymore and seeming as i have taken a good bite out of my £300/350 budget i just don't know what the best cpu to get would be,

so many people are down on amd but i don't see anything wrong with them ??
so what do you guys think i should put in this build

my 700w is fine still and the stock cooler that comes with the cpu when i get it will do untill i get a nice water cooler on it

thoughts ??

So you have a budget of about £350.
For that, you require a Cpu, mobo, ram and a 660 or do you already have this?

Thanks for your help there, ah you prob do have an idea how i feel right now
but i haven't had new hardware for so long now other than graphics cards can't wait to get this build under way

oh it's because i use to look like a whippit dog on my snowboard and a drunk friend tried to say that exact phase whilst drunk and come out with

Might want to consider adding a cooler into that budget, unless you have one you can use already.

Those stock coolers that come with the Intel processors aren't great coolers and aren't too quiet either.

i've decided to go with amd i want to give it a chance the price is great for an 8 cpu. i wont be touching any over clocking as such untill i can get one of them stand alone water cooling units so i read they have improved the stock cooler that comes with the FX-8320

All i do is play games, watch stream music, watch porn and render video for my youtube channel

with 8 cores i could do it all at the same time WOW lol

You should be able to use your V8, providing you still have the AM3+ fitting. It will be a lot better than the stock cooler.

I wish i could but i sold my p5Q3 delux with the q6600 & V8 cooler and 6gb ram to a mate for £100

he's going to use it as a media pc
